Serves as a resource for all employees at the site and acts as an example for others while demonstrating the core values of Wabtec. A focal point for HR Administrative tasks such as headcount reporting, time & attendance audits, payroll processing and employee on boarding. Partner with HR Manager to drive projects and initiatives Provides guidance and support for full suite of HR functions, including talent management, performance management, organizational change, policy and process implementation, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and facilitating team performance. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local law in all matters related to labor and employment. Prepares and processes personnel action forms and requests. Communicates and interprets company policy to employees and site leadership. Maintains all personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements. Helps managers to determine appropriate staffing levels, manage open positions, track headcount, and leads hiring activities. Provides coaching, advice, council, and support for leadership, management, employees, and peers. Acts as an impartial advocate to ensure that all employees are treated fairly and equitably. Conducts investigations, counsels employees, and ensures consistent application of progressive disciplinary action. Maintain and protect confidential data with utmost scrutiny, judgment, and care Tracks performance indicators and provides reports to aid managers in making key decisions. Looks for ways to improve HR programs and processes. What about the physical demands of the job? This role serves as a member of the local leadership teams and acts as the primary HR support for all local exempt and non-exempt employees. As the primary HR contact, the HR Manager is expected to be able to communicate the status of the process with colleagues, keep team members informed, and respond clearly to employee inquiries while maintaining positive and open relationships across all levels of the organization. The HR Manager is expected to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential business and employee information and can effectively manage time, prioritize workload, handle multiple tasks without close supervision, and consistently meet deadlines.
Within the first 12-18 months, a build out (move) of a new manufacturing facility in the Chicagoland area.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Leads the overall recruiting process including but not limited to: scoping roles, sourcing applicants, interviewing candidates, and complying with record keeping requirements. Partners with hiring managers to screen candidates, conduct interviews, and select best fit talent for open positions.
- Drives continual learning environment through the creation, administration, and delivery of training and development specifically around leadership development for people managers and high potential contributors, individual development planning, other appropriate programs that ensure all employee populations are supported.
- Functions as an advisor to operations management regarding the application of employment law and company policies to specific business decisions and performance management.
- Organizes, conducts, and continually improves new employee onboarding; creates a positive first experience of the company.
- Drives positive organizational culture with emphasis on safety, fun in the workplace, and cross functional teamwork.
- Maintains accurate and up to date employee related data in HRIS and other applicable systems/files.
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are compliant.
- Responds to inquiries regarding benefit programs, policy administration, etc and educates and supports employees in the use of the self-service applications available to them.
- Partners with payroll to provide accurate documentation and bi-weekly reporting
- Other duties may be assigned
- Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, or comparable years of experience
- 5+ years experience in Human Resources
- Professional HR Certification preferred
- Previous experience supporting a manufacturing facility preferred
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills: Demonstrates good listening skills, communicates status on process with colleagues, keeps team members informed and responds clearly to employee inquiries.
- Stakeholder Management: Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization and demonstrates a positive and friendly attitude in working with people.
- Project Management: Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and drive results.
- Adaptability: Adapts easily to change, performs calmly under pressure and works effectively in ambiguous environments.
- Ability to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential business and employee information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Acts with empathy.
- Strong technical skills/aptitude: Proficiency in MS Office programs.

This individual provides professional Human Resources support across multiple stages of the employee life cycle with focus on recruitment, learning & development, and employee relations. Will serve as a trusted HR partner and advisor to departmental leaders and employee population at all levels in the organization.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** **:**
+ Leads the overall recruiting process including but not limited to: scoping roles, sourcing applicants, interviewing candidates, and complying with record keeping requirements. Partners with hiring managers to screen candidates, conduct interviews, and select best fit talent for open positions.
+ Drives continual learning environment through the creation, administration, and delivery of training and development specifically around leadership development for people managers and high potential contributors, individual development planning, other appropriate programs that ensure all employee populations are supported.
+ Functions as an advisor to operations management regarding the application of employment law and company policies to specific business decisions and performance management.
+ Organizes, conducts, and continually improves new employee onboarding; creates a positive first experience of the company.
