Key Responsibilities:

• Lead equipment qualification activities according to industry standards to support drug product pharmaceutical manufacturing and R&D activities.
• Lead, facilitate, and participate in technical discussions to successfully resolve problems with equipment suppliers, methods, project issues, and deviations.
• Design, develop and deploy automation within manufacturing unit operations to ensure competitiveness and organizational excellence.
• Progress the technical understanding of process impact on drug product, ensuring consistent scientific excellence and scientific quality standards are met.
• Lead, support, and contribute to internal Fill/Finish activities in support of Lead Stability Development batch manufacturing. Responsible for ongoing production and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Opportunity to develop process engineering skills including the use of multiphysics software for process modeling and the statistical analysis of data.

Qualifications:
Qualifications

Education:

• Minimum of a BS in Biomedical Engineering or relevant engineering concentration with 5 years of experience (including co-op, internships or industry experience) is required. MS with 2 years of work experience is preferred.

Qualifications:

• Experience in GxP automation equipment commissioning, qualifications, and life-cycle management are required.
• _ Experience and knowledge in GxP Fill/Finish applications is required _
• Proficiency in sensors and signal conditioning, circuit design/analysis and automation control systems are preferred.
• Proven proficiency and experience in biologics (mAbs, gene therapies, cell therapies, etc.) within the pharmaceutical industry with a high level of technical understanding are preferred.
• Effective communication skills by delivering information across multifunctional groups/sites and demonstrated leadership in providing integration of activities s are required.

Primary Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Process Engineer

• Manage the upgrade, rebuild, installation and start-up of process equipment.
• Provides leadership in the development of new equipment specifications.
• Analyze key process measures and determine major issues and their root causes.
• Identify equipment safety issues and implement solutions.
• In addition, provide technical assistance and an interface function on process, product, and maintenance problems.
• Manage outside resources including contractors, equipment vendors, and supply vendors for assigned projects.
• Work within and develop the appropriate standards, specifications, and procedures, including but not limited to those required for production, technical, safety, and environmental activities.
• Manage ordering of parts and supplies using Permac.
• Define equipment engineered rates.
• Review new process equipment and make recommendations for purchase/installation.
• Manage the implementation of moderate sized capital projects.
• Responsible for parts and supply development and reverse engineering.
• Understands opportunities for OEE improvements and leads OEE improvement initiatives.
• Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required for the Manufacturing Process Engineer

• Four-year college degree in an Engineering discipline preferred. Two Year college degree and/or five years engineering support experience required.
• Five or more years of experience in an engineering support position.
• Uses best practices and Knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve processes, products or services in own function
• Effectively manages small projects or sub-teams, including coordination of resources outside of own area. Forecast and plan resource requirements of small projects or sub-teams.
• Monitors and controls costs within own work and may manage cost for small projects or areas.
• Knowledge of the existing manufacturing systems including the computer systems, steel making processes, material flow and handling schemes, quality systems and process control techniques.
• Knowledge of Carpenter's processes, products and services.

Preferred for the Manufacturing Process Engineer

• Solves moderately complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions.
• Interprets customer's needs; assesses requirements and identified solutions to non- standards requests.
• Works independently to address a range of standards and non-standard situations.

• Perform sanitation activities as outlined in the master sanitation schedule.
• Work as directed by the Production Manager for additional shift sanitation support.
• Monitor sanitation supplies to ensure inventory is maintained
• Monitor sanitation logs and alert Managers if logs are incomplete.
• Support Production Operators where needed during CIP and scheduled cleaning.
• Completing logs for cleaning, sanitation, materials transactions, and records as required in SOPs.
• General cleaning of the facility and performing sanitation functions per procedure or as directed.
• Operating a forklift for material movement as required for position.
• Perform other sanitation duties as directed by Sanitation Manager.

• High School Degree or Equivalent
• Certification in Sanitation preferred
• Must be self-disciplined, a team player, and be able to handle emergency situations common to the operation. Must be able to maintain and display personal cleanliness and follow GMPs' as described in company guidelines. Must be able to write clearly and in an organized fashion.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and follow sanitation procedures, chemical concentrations, and chemical safety procedures.
• This job requires the employee to be able to handle chemical storage containers utilizing lift equipment.
