About the Company

Seeking a dedicated and motivated individual with strong attention to detail and organization to join our research and development team as the laboratory technician! This position requires a person who has some knowledge of laboratory duties and/or biological sciences.

About the Role

The candidate will perform comprehensive clinical laboratory procedures of low and high complexity as directed by the laboratory manager.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preparation of reagents and controls
  • Perform daily and weekly maintenance of equipment per SOPs (standard operating procedures) and any other applicable documentation
  • Maintain laboratory and equipment clean and functional (On the job training will be provided)
  • Perform all tasks related to clinical sample testing (blood, urine), including sample receipt, log-in, sample preparation and testing, recording test results, and disposing of samples
  • Organize stock and maintains inventory; order stock as needed
  • Adhere to existing safety standards and help improve laboratory safety practices whenever possible
  • Provide support to direct and extended R&D team as necessary

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree- with 3 years experience

  • Analyze test results and communicate them clearly to physicians to support clinical decision-making.

This role involves performing medical laboratory testing on patient samples, including routine and complex technical procedures and functions. The ideal candidate will be skilled in phlebotomy, specimen collection, processing, machine calibration, troubleshooting, and documentation. You will occasionally communicate with parents to deliver test results. Responsibilities Perform medical laboratory testing on patient samples.Conduct routine and complex technical procedures and functions in the laboratory information system.Carry out phlebotomy, specimen collection, and processing of patient samples.Calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory machines.Document procedures and follow appropriate regulations.Communicate with parents to deliver test results occasionally. Essential Skills 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting.Knowledge in Chemistry, Biology, Medical laboratory practices.Strong communication and customer service skills.Comfortable performing phlebotomy on children. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associates in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) OR Bachelors in Medical Lab Science (MLS).Regular science degrees require 1 year of lab experience.Bench laboratory experience.ASCP certification is not required but this role is a great start for someone interested in getting ASCP certification. Work Environment The work environment is a laboratory setting during the 2nd shift from 2PM-10PM. The majority of patients are children, and the role requires comfort with phlebotomy on children. The lab is equipped with the latest technologies for specimen collection, processing, and machine calibration.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.86 - $32.86/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. A smaller community hospital located just outside of Troy, Missouri is seeking a full-time, permanent Medical Laboratory Technologist to join their team!

The Medical Laboratory Technologist Job Description:

  • Full-time, direct hire opportunity
  • Day shift, Fri/Sat/Sun, 6a-6p
  • Great laboratory leadership and administration team!
  • $10,000 Sign on Bonus
  • Under general direction, interpret and report test results. Perform routine and complex technical laboratory analyses using established procedures and protocols. Perform chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
The Medical Laboratory Technologist Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology preferred
  • Must have AMT or ASCP certification
  • Previous clinical laboratory experience is preferred, however open to new grads
