We offer internships with a variety of work arrangements from onsite interns to fully remote in US. Each intern will receive a competitive salary. Additionally, Interns who are asked to relocate to Illinois for onsite internships will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses. The Audio Test Engineering Intern will work with various Shure products, understand different DSP algorithms, define test cases, document these test cases, and review with various team members, and verify algorithm performances in nominal and stress use cases. This is a hands-on position, so candidate is expected to be high energy, self-driven, and comfortable working with various products in intended work environments for a given product.


This Internship is Onsite, based in our Skokie, IL location.

Responsibilities

    Development and deployment of unit tests for quantifying and qualifying algorithm performance
  • Creating tools for real-time signal analysis and diagnosis
  • Hardware setup, debugging, and modification
  • Critical listening of cutting-edge technologies
  • Audio data generation
  • Demonstration of technologies to internal stakeholders

Qualifications

The Audio Test Engineering Intern will work with various Shure products, understand different DSP algorithms, define test cases, document these test cases, and review with various team members, and verify algorithm performances in nominal and stress use cases. This is a hands-on position, so candidate is expected to be high energy, self-driven, and comfortable working with various products in intended work environments for a given product.

This Internship is Onsite, based in our Skokie, IL location.

Responsibilities

  • Development and deployment of unit tests for quantifying and qualifying algorithm performance
  • Creating tools for real-time signal analysis and diagnosis
  • Hardware setup, debugging, and modification
  • Critical listening of cutting-edge technologies
  • Audio data generation
  • Demonstration of technologies to internal stakeholders
  • Collaboration with DSP developers in algorithm tuning
Qualifications
  • Completed at least two years of coursework in Acoustics, Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering
  • Some Audio/acoustics coursework is required
  • Coursework and/or experience with real-time programming languages such as C/C++ and simulation languages such as Matlab, and Python (NumPy/SciPy)
  • Hands on experience with or comfortable dealing with different audio setups
  • Critical listening skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

Each internship has an hourly rate which varies from $21-$40 per hour based on job function (Engineering, IT, Business, etc) and year completed in school (Junior, Masters 2nd year, PHD, etc).
