Job Purpose

Member of an associate team with the responsibility for performing tactical and strategic buying activities to support on time delivery and overall part readiness in support Manufacturing, Engine Assembly and MRO. Support of cost, sourcing, and supplier management functions in the Purchasing Department.  Initiate and evaluate RFQ/ RFPs to support business needs, place POs based on cost, quality and delivery requirements, and coordinate meetings with suppliers and customers to ensure business project goals are being met.  This position will be responsible to ensure on time delivery and achievement of project goals. 

Key Accountabilities

• Supplier communication and follow up to support on time delivery for manufacturing, engine assembly, maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) and facility needs.  Ability to problem solve and make decisions to support hardware disposition and expediting to achieve on time delivery. 
• Supplier request for quotation (RFQ) and negotiation.  Award business based on the best possible quality, cost and delivery terms.
• Work with Engineering (HGPU) and Suppliers to accomplish process improvement goals in support of on time delivery.  Work with internal and external customers to support process changes and other project related items.
• Provide support to team members to ensure process are understood and followed.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, manufacturing engineering or closely related field or equivalent work experience in procurement or supply chain related field

Minimum Experience

• Minimum 3 years procurement or logistics related experience is required.
• Strong project management and good problem solving skills are required.
• Ability to manage supplier relationships and work in teams to build consensus.

Job Purpose

Honda Aero in Burlington, NC is in search of a Senior Manager responsible to manage the FAA product certification projects and foreign validation activities to meet company goals and objectives. leads the Certification Office , and develops and refines company certification processes.  This includes leading the facilitation and coordination of all certification activities with the FAA and other civil aviation authorities, developing related strategies within the company, and promoting industry initiatives in support of company goals.

Key Accountabilities

•   Manage FAA product certification projects and foreign validation activities to meet company goals and objectives.
•   M entor and guide company engineers on product certification requirements, procedures, and project work.
•   Refine and develop related company processes.
•   Support the company's strategic objectives through participation in industry meetings and on industry committees.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an aviation-related degree from a four-year university is required.  A Master’s degree is a plus.

Minimum Experience:

10 years of directly related experience in aircraft product development, FAA certification, and foreign validation.

• Service aircraft, including but not limited to, mechanical work involved in the dismantling, disassembly, overhauling, repairing, fabricating, assembling, welding, checking, repairing, replacing, testing, adjusting, installing, and erecting all parts of airplanes required to maintain airworthiness of aircraft and their components
• Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections
• Certify for the quality of own workmanship (i.e., that it is in accordance with the proper maintenance manuals and references)
• Connect/remove ground power and ground start units
• Push out/tow aircraft and perform guideman functions
   

AMT Work Conditions – General Functions

• Perform inspections in extreme environmental conditions, including extreme heat (over 100° Fahrenheit), extreme cold (below 32° Fahrenheit), rain, sleet, wind, and snow
• Perform duties that require general safety awareness (e.g., when working in an area with moving vehicles)
