Responsibilities:MV Transportation is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager who will be a dynamic, multi-task oriented senior professional to manage all day-to-day maintenance as pects of this fixed route bus operation. The Fleet Maintenance Manager will ensure that all contractual requirements are achieved, and duties included will consist of daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports. Qualifications:Talent Requirements:
- Must have at least three (3) or more years of recent (within the last five (5) years) and relevant experience managing the maintenance functions of a transit bus maintenance shop similar in scope, size, and complexity and with same or similar type of transit vehicles/equipment.
- Must have experience managing/ directing 10 plus employees (fleet Technicians/Service Workers/Cleaners).
- Experience working with 50 + buses within the last year.
- Previous passenger transportation in current project or similar environment preferred.
- Must be able to manage and interface with client.
- Must have the ability to track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers.
- Must be able to properly prioritize, implement and manage work schedules, projects and assignments.
- Must be able to manage the financial/accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats.
- Must have computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and Microsoft outlook.

Job Description
The Maintenance Manager oversees the day-to-day functions of mechanics, bus washers, utility workers and administrative staff members. Maintenance facilities typically operate on a three-shift basis to ensure that maintenance on equipment is completed; testes and inspections of products, services and process to evaluate quality or performance of that equipment is accomplished; and specifications are met to DOT, client or company standards. This position is based at our Grayslake, IL contract.

Key Responsibilities:
+ Hire, train and schedule Maintenance Technicians
+ Approve priority of maintenance and repairs based on availability of materials and parts and requirements
+ of scheduled operations
+ Coordinate and oversee work performed by outside vendors
+ Ensure company and client equipment is maintained and operating efficiently
+ Manage inventory
+ Implement safety policies and procedures for the department per corporate requirements
+ Participate in the development and administration of the operational budget
+ Identify opportunities for improving service delivery methods
+ Other duties as required.
+ Travel requirement outside of immediate area (as a percent):
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma, GED or equivalent
+ Valid CDL Class B (or higher) with passenger and airbrake endorsements preferred
+ 7 years+ experience in the repair and maintenance of all types of heavy-duty automotive and transit
+ equipment
+ 3 years+ of supervisory experience
+ Broad understanding of all mechanical systems related to heavy-duty transportation vehicles
+ Familiarity with laws & regulations associated with the safe operation of maintenance facilities
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills
+ Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
+ Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements:
+ The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
+ Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.

**THE POSITION**
**Reporting Structure** : The Fleet Maintenance Manager reports to the Manager - Maintenance.
**Shift Schedule** : Monday-Friday (8:00 AM-5:00 PM)

Maintenance professionals oversee the inspection, repair and upkeep of equipment, machinery, facilities and infrastructure within an organization. They play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of assets, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. They also may analyze data, identify failure patterns, develop maintenance strategies and implement reliability improvement initiatives.
**Job Summary:**
The Fleet Maintenance Manager oversees preventative maintenance, collaborates with Operations to limit service interruptions, supports drivers in resolving maintenance issues, manages external service providers, and maintains proactive communication to provide updates on maintenance progress and delays.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ **Preventative Maintenance** - Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance strategies to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime, leveraging advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
+ **Operations Partnership** - Lead cross-functional teams to integrate maintenance schedules with operational objectives, ensuring seamless service delivery and minimal interruptions.
+ **Downtime Reduction** - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, utilizing data analytics to identify and address recurring maintenance issues proactively.
+ **Vendor Oversight** - Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with external service providers, negotiating repair invoices, and ensuring adherence to service level agreements and cost efficiency.
+ **Communication** - Facilitate effective communication across departments and with external partners, providing regular updates on maintenance progress, delays, and strategic initiatives.
+ **Accountability & Reliability** - Maintain regular and reliable attendance while performing other duties as assigned to support team and business needs
**EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS**
**Qualifications:**
+ High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred
+ Successful completion of a CRST background check and drug screen
**Preferred:**
+ Experience managing fleet maintenance operations or vendor repair programs
+ Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and DOT compliance
+ Proven ability to communicate effectively across departments and with external partners
+ Skilled in reducing downtime through proactive problem-solving and resource coordination
+ Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
