The role involves motivating and managing staff of manufacturing engineers and overseeing the development and implementation of manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:- Lead and grow our Manufacturing Engineering team.
- Manage the New Production Introduction (NPI) Manufacturing Engineering team of 5 to 7 engineers and technicians.
- Evaluate server and rack designs for Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and collaborate with internal design teams and customers on improvements.
- Provide input to strategic decisions affecting manufacturing operations.
- Resolve escalated issues from operations, coordinating with other departments.
- Drive projects to improve process reliability, flow, productivity, and reduce cycle times and costs.
- Own the creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing methods and procedures.
- Provide resource, labor, and production capacity analysis.
- Offer feedback on requirements and needs to meet production schedules.
- Evaluate and approve manufacturing infrastructure needs and costs.
- Review, evaluate, and approve change orders.
- Lead and develop manufacturing engineers through training and mentorship.
- BSc in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering; MSc preferred. Minimum 5 years in manufacturing engineering management.
- Deep understanding of product manufacturing, including rationales and limitations.
- Expertise in manufacturing systems.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification required; Black Belt preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Visio.
- Knowledge of Lean principles and practical experience applying them.
- Strong project management, time management, and delegation skills.
Salary: $119,000 - $137,500+ DOE.

Job Purpose
The Manufacturing Process Engineer Supervisor is responsible for leading the team of engineers who maintain and develop the sequence of assembly and operations standards in the Assembly Department at our East Liberty Auto Plant. Process Engineer is responsible for assembly process development and determining the sequence of assembly for spec parts based upon existing process/parts lay out/ST and/or the maintenance and optimization of established process to achieve the SQCDM metrics.
Key Accountabilities
- Continuous development of self, colleagues, and team through training and mentoring to proactively improve areas of technical expertise for personal and team growth.
- Lead and/or support collaborative development and problem-solving utilizing manufacturing solutions with existing and new technology.
- Lead/support process development and maturation to achieve project targets.
- Build process expertise to represent the department through communication to management.
- Link to department initiatives in the area of technical expertise; (business plan, investment, FSI, Monozukuri, and Global Mother).
- Understand/manage T-Stage (Trail stage) or mass production design change impact to process design.
- Develop and maintain accuracy of systems required to support production. (Operation Standards, parts, PDDA, time standards, delivery locations, part flows, layouts….etc)
- Design and improve process efficiency for maximum manpower utilization to establish direct process coverage (DPC).
- Develop department sourcing strategies to optimize cost effectiveness.
- Collaborate with other departments, factories or experts for development and improvements as well as impact to the department (Packaging, Purchasing, APQ, QIC, New Model, Equipment, Safety, Quality… etc.)
- Strive for continuous improvement through cycling PDCA for area of responsibility to ensure associate success.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial and Robotics); or 8 years equivalent relevant experience.
- A minimum of two years of experience.
- 2 years mass production assembly experience, preferred.
- Knowledge of: Process Data Development and Analysis (PDDA); process engineering (MOST); parts numbers, BOM, and applications; Assembly (AF) quality control systems and specification; Assembly (AF) techniques and processes; New model project development; quality control systems and work flows; Assembly (AF) department layout and equipment.
- Skill in: Utilizing 2D and 3D drafting utilities - CATIA; analytical problem solving and decision making; project management.
- Ability to: Respond effectively to unusual demands and special projects; work and communicate effectively in a team environment; clearly and concisely document thoughts, ideas, requirements, and problems.
Workstyle

General Summary:
This is a management-level position that is the primary equipment, technology, and process strategist - leveraging cradle to grave capital project experience to ensure the Victorville site supports business growth. Owner of equipment and process capability, and capacity. Senior process engineering support for the facility with responsibility for overall engineering support for operational improvement and manufacturing programs including continuous improvement teams, root cause analysis. Manages operational "Good to Great" cost savings program and CER capital projects.
Provides technical support to Victorville Plant. Responsible for production line design, equipment acquisition and project commercialization; both facility and production related. This position recommends, develops and implements appropriate plant systems to ensure process and product quality is consistent with Company quality policies & requirements. Also, responsible for the development and tracking of technical budgets for department activities along with capital forecasts for future facility needs.
Job Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
* Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and awareness within the plant and their area. Support and adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures at all times.
* Prepares and controls budgets for technical department including capital forecasts for projects supporting manufacturing and facilities needs and annual department budget.
* Develops and takes ownership of the site master plan from a strategic growth perspective.
* Designs and implements engineering projects utilizing design for manufacturability concepts.
* Develops and manages budgets for assigned functions or departments including utility operating requirements.
* Monitors plant and infrastructure issues and areas of concern.
* Support Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) training/orientation.
* Review process value stream mapping and recommend staffing levels, materials, machines, methods and performance metrics (measurements) to ensure an effective operation.
* Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages.
* Identify and coordinate specific process and system related training for equipment when required (such as process or technology changes).
* Develop and utilize appropriate change management processes when required as a result of process or equipment changes.
* Lead and manage Engineering Department direct reports.
* Formal and/or informal mentoring. Facilitation of mentors for new technical employees, as appropriate.
* Responsible for keeping current with technical changes and innovation - bring these external ideas into the operation.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Perform Process Safety Studies on audited Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's)
* Size pressure relief valves and vents
* Size control valves and flow limiters
* Prepare system pressure loss, flow, maximum equipment pressure and vacuum, and similar calculations

**Purpose of Role:**
Responsible for leading the process and process utilities programs for the execution and delivery of projects and strategic programs across the North American Region consisting of the US, Canada and US Virgin Islands.
