The Occupational Health and Safety Specialist is responsible for fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence by providing expert guidance, support, and training to reduce workplace hazards. This role ensures daily compliance with all applicable government regulations and Nestlé policies, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks through comprehensive assessments and collaborative action planning. A key focus of this position is injury management and the administration of occupational health claims. Provide SH&E Leadership

Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting

+ Ensure the practical implementation and day-to-day compliance with applicable SH&E department guidelines.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree preferred; safety, health, or similar discipline.
+ Professional certifications in SH&E-related fields are considered beneficial and may include ASP, CSP, CIH, OHST, NEBOSH, etc.
Critical Experiences
+ 1-2 years' experience in an Occupational Safety & Health role or related field in a manufacturing environment.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead in a team environment.
+ Understanding of ISO 14001, OHSAS 45001, LEAN and TPM concepts.
+ Working knowledge of OSHA and Workman's Compensation. Ability to reference, comprehend, and communicate applicable regulations is required.

**Responsibilities**
**PURPOSE** : Responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of environmental, health, safety and sustainability programs to assure compliance with regulatory agency guidelines and site policies. **A Day in the Life**
At Medtronic, we believe the work we do every day directly impacts lives around the world. As an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist, you'll play a critical role in creating safe, sustainable, and compliant workplaces where every employee can thrive.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
+ Develop, administer, and implement environmental, health, and safety programs in alignment with governmental regulations and company standards.
+ Monitor pollution prevention activities, compliance initiatives, and internal auditing efforts.
+ Conduct studies and prepare environmental impact reports for new construction projects, manufacturing processes, or permit changes.
+ Review and analyze environmental documentation issued by regulatory agencies; collaborate with those agencies to define corrective action plans.
+ Evaluate proposed regulations to determine potential financial, operational, public, and environmental impacts.
+ Partner with regulatory bodies to resolve compliance issues, establish permit requirements, and support audits.
+ Represent Medtronic in government and industry rule-making activities.
+ Identify hazards and ensure appropriate corrective action is taken to safeguard employee health and safety.
+ Recommend organizational measures to protect workers through revised methods, processes, or materials.
+ Inspect workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
+ Investigate incidents and identify root causes to drive continuous improvement.
+ Promote employee awareness and training on environmental, health, and safety practices.
**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR
+ Advanced degree with 0 years of relevant experience
**Nice to Have**
+ Experience developing business cases for EHS initiatives
+ EHS knowledge in warehouse, machining, or medical device manufacturing environments
+ Experience leading ergonomic improvement projects

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$74,400.00 - $111,600.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
