Position: Sales Manager

Responsibilities:

A day in the life:

Responsible for, or the supervision of, the hiring, training, motivating, evaluating, disciplining and/or terminating of all sales personnel.

About This Role

Job Summary

The Sales Manager provides leadership to a Sales Team to manage the customer value stream from prospecting to close of business through excellent customer service, while meeting or exceeding revenue targets.

The Sales Manager manages the following functional areas:

  • Outside Sales team, responsible for prospecting through the project award.
  • A best-in-class Estimating department, to meticulously complete take-offs, pricing and quotes.
  • Partnering with other key Oldcastle Infrastructure (OI) functional areas such as production, engineering and transportation in a timely manner.
  • Engaging with other CRH company, building relationships and collaboration.

The Sales Manager is charged with assembling and leading a team to identify and capitalize on opportunities while providing an excellent customer experience.

  • This role is located at our plant in Middle Island, NY.
Job Responsibilities
  • Manages, trains and mentors a team of O.S.R's that will spend the majority of their time on the road in-front of contractors, developing relationships, building and maintaining specifications, and closing project deals, while also driving OI interests in the marketplace.
  • Manage, train and mentor a team of Estimators towards completing take-offs, improving accuracy of quotes. Maintaining response times that align with the customer expectations.
  • Implements and manages a system that generates leads through professional sales tactics and networking within the engineering and contractor community.
  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate sales goals.
  • Reviews market analytics to determine customer needs, market-based pricing, and discounts.
  • Responds to customer's needs in a focused and service-oriented manner, quickly addressing issues to provide positive results, demonstrating knowledge of our customer's business needs and expectations, effectively applying knowledge and skills to problem-solve individual circumstances.
  • Implements and manages systems that provide complete and accurate quotes that are consistently formatted and provided within a timely manner, tailored to the customer's project needs.
  • Provides market-based pricing based upon Outside Sales Representative and Estimator feedback, meticulously tracking won/lost jobs and having a general pulse on the marketplace. Maintain and update in real time, market-based price list for Outside Sales Representative and Estimators to work from. Ensures each team manages their time appropriately.
  • Provides professional and timely communication with internal departments to ensure seamless customer service support (engineering, purchasing, production, delivery, accounting).
  • Routinely completes ride along with Outside Sales Representatives for customer and job sites visits to strengthen relationships, gather market information, learn of new opportunities, and show Oldcastle's value as a business partner.
  • Develop and maintain a strong base of product knowledge and explores potential new product opportunities.

Job Requirements
  • Industry experience preferred.
  • 5+ years sales management experience in industrial or construction environment encouraged.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM software.
  • SAP, Salesforce CPQ would be very beneficial.

Job Compensation: Annual salary of $135-145k plus 15% target bonus

Responsibilities:
  • Drive revenue growth across all ground product lines of business (LOB).
  • Responsible for identifying and developing new customer relationships through various lead generation practices.
  • Take ownership of the assigned territory and be accountable for station growth.
  • Develop and implement General Rate Increase (GRI) and Customer Specific Pricing (CSP) strategies.
  • Conduct 20+ weekly face-to-face meetings with customers and prospects to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Educate and engage customers on our ground product services to ensure they understand and utilize our offerings effectively.
  • Create and own the strategic roadmap for ground product services.
  • Conduct strategic business reviews to assess performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Act as the liaison for contract needs, ensuring all agreements are aligned with company policies and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate and ensure accountability for the onboarding of new customers.
  • Manage forecasting and pacing to meet revenue and growth targets.
  • Ensure alignment with quality standards and customer expectations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry.
  • Proven ability to identify and cultivate new customer relationships through diverse lead generation strategies.
  • Strong understanding of ground transportation services and market dynamics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
