The Network Security Engineer role requires extensive Palo Alto Panorama, Firewalls, and Global Protect experience, along with extensive networking experience. Palo Alto Prisma Access and Zero Trust Network Access knowledge and experience are highly desired. A Network Security Engineer is responsible for providing architectural, technical, and problem resolution support for a Federal Agency network and security infrastructure that promotes a secure and scalable environment that aligns with the security requirements of our customer. 

A Network Security Engineer also focuses on both the short-term and the long-term strategy, recommends technology solutions and improvements to the network and security-related environments and is also responsible for delivering clear, concise, timely communications that promote confidence in our team’s ability to deliver operational excellence. They also perform Tier III “Build and Run” activities across multiple network and security environments, and review and recommend configuration changes, as needed.

General Summary of Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Security Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and building complex multi-vendor network solutions to support our North American business customers and maintain our core infrastructure. Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Network Security Engineer with an active Secret clearance to lead the architecture, engineering, integration, development, and/or deployment of network and security devices, applications, and tools in an enterprise environment. This position will be located in Arlington, VA and will be a fully remote within the United States position.

• Lead the architecture, engineering, integration, development, and/or deployment of network and security devices, applications, and tools in an enterprise environment.

• Work with network monitoring and intrusion detection, host-based and network-based IDS, and log management applications. Recommend upgrades and new components for DEA approval.

• Install, test, patch, and upgrade computer hardware and operating systems (Windows and Unix) in an enterprise environment.

• Leverage tools such as SourceFire, ArcSight, Splunk, Net Witness, Guidance Software, Digital Guardian, Raytheon (SureView), NMAP, Request Tracker, Nagios, Intelliview, Nessus, and Foundstone to provide direct support for WAN, LAN, Wireless, Mobile, and VPN networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's with 15+ years network security (or commensurate experience)

• Active Secret Clearance Required, plus the ability to obtain and hold DEA suitability

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

USD $165,000.00 - USD $185,000.00 /Yr.
