The University of Colorado Colorado Springs ( (UCCS) is a premier educational institution that prides itself on academic excellence, research, and community engagement and is actively seeking **Lecturer - Strategic Management (pool)** to join our team! **Pay Range** : $3,000 - $5,000 for a 3-credit hour course. Pay rate is dependent upon (a) the number of courses taught, (b) the type of courses taught (e.g. undergraduate, graduate), and (c) the education level held by the lecturer. This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.
Because this appointment is temporary in nature, you will not be eligible to receive all of the benefits normally provided to faculty under the standard University of Colorado benefits programs ( . You are not eligible to receive paid vacation leave, medical, or retirement benefits. However, you are eligible to accrue sick leave at 0.034 hours of sick leave per hour worked.
**Work Location** : Determined by course modality: On-campus, online, or hybrid. Remote teaching opportunities may be available under certain conditions.
**Summary**
The College of Business and Administration ( at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) will establish and maintain a pool of **Lecturers in** **Strategic Management** from which future appointments to temporary, non-tenure track positions will be made. Appointments are part-time (less than 50% time) and will be made semester-by-semester.
This position will teach Strategic Management classes. Examples of courses include the following: strategic management - which includes strategic analysis of the competitive environment, and strategy management and implementation. Classes may be on-campus, online, or hybrid.
This is a revolving Lecturer Pool for the College of Business. If there is a course opening and your qualifications match a course and the minimum requirements, you may be contacted at that time.

**Essential Functions**
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
+ Provides instruction to undergraduate/graduate students both in-person and online courses.
+ Maintains, develop and schedules student learning experiences to achieve desired learning outcomes.
+ Plans, develops, and implements evaluation tools to assess student process towards course learning objectives.
+ Be familiar with learning management systems, such as Canvas.
+ Other duties as determined by the College of Business.

+ Completed Master's degree in business administration or a closely related field is required.
+ A terminal degree (e.g. PhD, DBA, JD) is preferred.

**Overview**
The Analyst is a critical member of the OSM team focused on supporting corporate, divisional and functional leaders with strategy development, executive decision making and initiative implementation. Analysts are expected to demonstrate highly refined analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in both independent and group settings. You will have a direct impact on overall team goals while promoting your own personal growth. The ideal candidate for this role will either have recently graduated from an MBA program and have about a year of analytical, strategy or consulting experience or, alternatively, the ideal candidate will have at least a year of management consulting experience doing analytical and/or project work.
**Primary Responsibilities**
+ Analytical Support: Structure analyses-including defining logic, business rules and assumptions-needed to drive business decisions. Deliver analyses employing a variety of programs (MS Excel, MS Access, SQL Server, etc.) and business intelligence tools (Business Objects, Diver, Data Warehouse, etc.) to identify, extract and analyze data.
+ Presentation Support: Support team members in the development of PowerPoint slides to effectively communicate findings.
+ Research Support: Conduct ad hoc and ongoing research projects related to strategic initiatives
+ Project Management Support: Support team members with analytical support as needed
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Education: Bachelor's Degree is required (cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above). Preferably in business, finance, economics, engineering, accounting or applied math. MBA is preferred but not required.
+ Experience: Relevant analytical work experience is required. 1-3 years of work experience preferred but will consider applicants with strong academic results and internship experience
+ Project Management Skills: Must possess excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
+ Computer Skills: Must have knowledge of extracting data from a database (knowledge of relational databases and Structured Query Language (SQL) is a strong plus). Advanced proficiency in MS Excel. Must be proficient in MS Word, and MS PowerPoint, and must have a working knowledge of MS Access. Ability to learn various business solutions programs (i.e., Diver, Business Objects, Tableau, etc.)
+ Analytical/Problem-Solving Skills: Must demonstrate strong critical thinking capabilities and analytical / problem-solving skills. Must be comfortable interpreting and manipulating large amounts of data. Must demonstrate a structured, analytical thought process.
