Currently, we are searching for a Telecom Engineer to join our team ON SITE, in Dallas, TX.

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Telecom & End-User Support Specialist to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be a key player in providing expert support for our Cisco conferencing systems and administering our mobile device fleet using Microsoft Intune. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional end-user support.

Job Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Avaya Softphone Application.
• Manage, Configure, Activate iPhone, iPad and WIFI hotspots.
• Experience in MS Intune and MS Authenticator to manage and activate Apple mobile devices.
• Administer, maintain, and provide expert support for Cisco conferencing solutions (e.g., Cisco Webex, Cisco Meeting Server, Cisco endpoints).
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with video conferences, including network connectivity, audio/video quality, and peripheral devices.
• Configure and manage conference room systems and integrated AV equipment.
• Administer and manage our mobile device fleet (primarily iPhones) using Microsoft Intune.
• Deploy, configure, and secure mobile devices according to company policies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with device enrollment, app deployment, and security policies.
• Provide support for iOS-specific applications and features.
• Provide comprehensive technical support to end-users for various hardware and software issues.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex issues and implement new solutions.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
• Associate's degree in information technology or a related field, preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a telecommunications or IT support role.
• Proven experience with the management and support of enterprise telecom systems.
• Strong knowledge of VoIP technologies, SIP, and a solid understanding of network principles (LAN/WAN).
• Experience in Cisco Webex, MMRS Teams meeting, Conference Scheduling.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune for managing iOS devices.
• Expert-level knowledge of Apple iPhones, iOS, and troubleshooting common mobile device issues.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and general IT service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
• Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Collaboration, Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator, or Apple Certified Support Professional are highly desirable.
• Regular and predictable attendance

In This Role, You Will:

Work within Mariner Finance's Corporate IT Operations team. You will work within a high-performing team to develop and design robust Telecom solutions for Mariner's offices and branches nationwide. You will be provided numerous opportunities to play an important role in special projects, marketing initiatives, and the daily operation of Mariner Finance.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
  • Plan, design, implement, and provide ongoing support of Telecom solutions of high complexity (core telephony, collaboration, and contact center) to fulfill business needs for performance and cost benefits.
  • Provide second-level technical support to clients and to technical teams within Mariner Finance to resolve telecom issues and to support the implementation of new solutions.
  • Provide operational and technical support for conference room technology - including video conferencing hardware platforms. Responsible for maintaining systems, driving functional upgrades and enhancements, and engage with users and other support teams as needed for support issues.
  • Willingly share and accept ideas within team structure to build solid solutions and ensure effective troubleshooting of issues.
  • Ensure full compliance of Mariner's Key Controls and Technical Service Requirements for all Telecom architecture, designs, and implementations both past and present.
  • Assist with testing and QA functions to ensure that projects are securely delivered and fulfill expectations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with teams and third parties on Telecom development or support issues.
  • Ensure all changes go through appropriate review, change control, and acceptance before implementation.
  • Provide highest level of technical consultancy to ensure problem resolution is achieved in the shortest possible timeframe.
  • Work with the Information Security team to ensure solutions deployed meet Mariner's security requirements and provides technical assistance for investigation and analysis of security alerts.
  • Recommend and assist in development of solutions and build out of plans to effectively gain buy-in from all participants.
  • Assist with development and streamlining processes to further improve delivery of Telecom services.
  • Document issues and solutions, create job aids to be used by both Support Teams and/or End Users.
  • Handles problems that are difficult and sometimes complex.
  • Complete projects, prioritize tasks, and provide frequent progress reports with limited direction from team leads and management based on company needs.
  • May perform additional functions depending on market demand and staffing in order to provide consistent quality customer service.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Telecom management experience and deep expertise in Telecom solutions including troubleshooting and implementation within cloud-based solutions (Ring Central).
  • Experience supporting complex contact center environment consisting of items such as call prioritization, advanced routing, IVR, Dialer, API Integration, call recording and call reporting elements.
  • Advanced knowledge in Telecom operations support (PBX, IVR, Carrier Ops, Call Processing, Network Management).
  • Previous Telecom design and development experience.
  • Experience with all aspects of high-availability fault-tolerant architectures.
  • Ability to explain complex ideas and concepts to both a technical and nontechnical audience in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience developing technical diagrams with tools such as Microsoft Visio.
  • Experience with and strong knowledge of various video conferencing platforms (RingCentral, Zoom, Teams, etc.) and technology for conference rooms for collaboration (Poly, etc.).
  • Strong skillset with scripting languages, such as Python, Java/JavaScript or similar.
  • Strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ability to multitask, change direction, effectively prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision and be able to independently determine tasks to complete on a daily basis.
  • Ability to occasionally adjust work schedule to meet business need (standard is forty (40) hour week with occasional after-hours and weekend requirements).
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with both local and remote staff, teammates, managers, and senior business leaders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • ITIL Certification
  • Experience with PCI compliant or ISO-2700x environments.
  • Experience with RingCentral & NICE.

This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, code-compliant, and cost-effective engineering solutions for critical infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engineering and construction work packages, BOM, and documentation for new installations, upgrades, and maintenance projects, including fiber optics, SCADA, RTU, and LAN/WAN systems.

  • Prepare and review substation and telecom construction drawings such as one-line diagrams, schematics, front views, and wiring diagrams.

  • Design, mark-up and oversee detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations.

  • Redesign electrical and physical drawings/documentation using engineering software like AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and other design tools.

  • Prepare and review substation construction drawings such as electrical arrangements, plan and section views, grounding, cable, and conduit drawings.

  • Review and conduct studies such as lightning protection, grounding, and equipment replacement and repair for substations.

  • Conduct studies such as battery sizing, AC and DC station service sizing, voltage drop, and CT saturation.

  • Coordinate with clients, internal/external teams, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies for successful project execution.

  • Conduct site surveys and inspections to assess existing infrastructure, including feasibility studies, risk analyses, and identify engineering requirements.

  • Maintain accurate records of client files and design modifications.

  • Manage and design multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ensure compliance with ANSI, NESC, NEC, IEEE, and utility-specific standards.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers or other team members.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program or a related field.

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in utilities working with substations and telecom engineering.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of fiber optic routing, splicing, and design.

  • Familiarity with utility permitting and regulatory compliance.

Work Environment

The office is an engineering office environment that is quiet in nature. Engineers will share an office with another engineer. The dress code is business casual, and there is a laid-back feel in the office. Teamwork is highly encouraged and happens frequently.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62.50 - $86.54/hr.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cisco Voice Engineer to join our Telecommunications Voice Delivery Team . This role is essential in designing, implementing, and supporting Cisco-based voice communication systems across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) , voice gateways , and VoIP technologies , and will contribute to scalable, secure, and reliable voice services. Work will be managed within an Agile delivery framework using Jira for task tracking and progress monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Voice Infrastructure Management:
    Design, configure, and maintain Cisco voice technologies, including CUCM, Unity Connection, Webex, gateways (VG310, ISR), and IP phones.
  • Call Flow Engineering:
    Develop and manage voice routing, dial plans, and call flows to ensure consistent performance across all enterprise sites.
  • Project Deployment & Collaboration:

  • Incident & Problem Management:

This position is required to work at various Johns Hopkins locations throughout Maryland and Washington, D.C. The Network Engineer I position is responsible for the replacement of defective telephone switching equipment that our patients, clinical staff, security and administration need to keep our business functioning. This position also manages all of the Uninterrupted Power equipment for various Johns Hopkins buildings. The Network Engineer I is on-call to handle out-of-hour maintenance issues. They work with various vendors on many different types of Information Technology equipment such as servers, PC's, data switches and fiber optic cables. The position should have knowledge of Avaya PBXs and voicemail, understanding of SIP, Avaya System Manager and Session Manager, knowledge of SBC (Ribbon), knowledge of SIP endpoints, and networking knowledge.

Job Scope/Complexity: Position primarily focuses on entry level to moderately complex designs for data and voice communication systems throughout the Johns Hopkins enterprise. Job complexity includes design/engineering/installation of small to medium sized projects (multiple floors within a building to multiple buildings within a campus), troubleshooting routing and switching protocol issues, and interfacing with customers to understand needs. Typically, this job is focused on a primary Johns Hopkins campus; however this position is expected to travel throughout Maryland/DC to cover any Johns Hopkins location as required.

Job Responsibilities: The responsibilities listed below are typical examples of the work performed by this position. Not all duties assigned to this position are included, nor is it expected that everyone in this position will be assigned every job responsibility.

NETWORK ANALYSIS AND DESIGN

  1. Manage small to medium sized projects and program components (protocol analysis, address space engineering, migration to new systems, scheduling, installations, product research, etc.) by following established guidelines/objectives to deliver service to customers.
  2. Responsible for network planning, network infrastructure design and engineering by meeting with network team to discuss plans and alternatives of possible solutions.
  3. Develop project planning documents by using established departmental guidelines to deliver successful projects.
  4. Produces written reports (e.g., status reports, research results, project plans) by using standard tools to document analysis of a network infrastructure or system.
  5. Provide presentations on ideas, designs, plans, and/or solutions by using standard presentation tools to communicate to a variety of audiences.

INSTALLATION AND CONFIGURATION

  1. Install and configure small to medium size networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN by using established procedures and tools to deliver quality products to customers.
  2. Implement changes by adhering to the change management policies and procedures for any given project. Communicate to all parties the nature, significance, and risk factors of the solution.
  3. With minimal guidance and/or oversight, install, configure, and interpret results of network analyzers.

MAINTAIN AND TROUBLESHOOT

  1. Maintain medium size route and switched networks (0-10,000 nodes), including verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN by following documentation provided for the solution to ensure a stable network
  2. Coordinate and solve network issues that have been escalated from tier-1 personnel (Network Analyst, or Network Technician), inclusive of setting up network analyzers and interpreting results, by using standard network analysis tools to provide a successful solution to the problem.
  3. Troubleshoot medium size route and switched networks, including verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN, by using standard network analysis tools to provide successful solutions to the customers.
  4. Analyze and determine root cause of problems by reviewing hardware vs software, hardware vs firmware, software vs operating system, network vs applications/systems, and patterned vs non-repeatable issues to deliver solution to the problem.

TECHNICAL COLLABORATION

  1. Collaborate with school, campus, or Enterprise-wide peers on assignments.
  2. May mentor other staff positions such as Network Analysts, or Network Technicians by reviewing their work to give them guidance with their tasks.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree. Additional experience may substitute for education.

Equivalency Formula: JHH: Related experience beyond minimum training experience qualifications may substitute for formal education requirement on a two years experience-for-one year education basis
