Job Description
This role supports analytical method development and data generation to inform product development, with cross-functional collaboration and a strong emphasis on scientific rigor, safety, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities Include:
- Engage with scientists across Development and Manufacturing organizations to develop, evaluate, and implement robust analytical methods/technologies and control strategies to advance current analytical capabilities.
- Independently generate data to inform development activities through the use of HPLC, UHPLC, and LCMS.
- Help to develop and perform robust analytical methods (e.g., HPLC purity, potency) and collaborate with other functions to enable the successful transfer and implementation of those methods.
- Direct or facilitate material testing activities conducted by specialized characterization groups
- Perform laboratory activities with a strong emphasis on safety and technical rigor, while adhering to policies and procedures.
- Identify and exploit new scientific concepts, exhibit strong problem-solving skills, and be self-motivated to contribute across multiple projects.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- B.S. or M.S. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field
- (B.S. with 3–4 years of industry experience; M.S. with less than 1 year required)
- Strong hands-on experience with liquid chromatography (HPLC, UPLC, LC-MS)
- Familiarity with additional analytical techniques, including FTIR, NMR, UV-Vis, KF, ICP, DSC, TGA, and XRPD
- Solid understanding of method characterization (e.g., linearity, precision, LOD/LOQ)
- Experience with analytical instrumentation: Waters I-Class, Thermo Vanquish Flex, AKTA Pure 150 M
- Proficiency in relevant software: Empower, Xcalibur, Unicorn, BioPharma Finder
- Working knowledge of IPRP, AEX/IEX, and HILIC chromatography
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and maintain analytical instrumentation
- Strong communication, scientific problem-solving skills, and learning agility
- Effective collaborator who can manage multiple priorities and thrive in dynamic environments
- Commitment to safety and compliance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with mass spectrometry, including oligonucleotide and RNA analysis
