As our enthusiastic and hardworking DONATION ATTENDANT, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Maintaining and cleaning up the area in and around the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift
- Assisting the donor in the receipt of donated items from the donor and provide receipt
- Maintaining all reports and paperwork as instructed by Supervisor
- Separating and sorting all donated material into the proper containers, and properly stack material as instructed by the Supervisor
- Assisting TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations on to trucks as necessary
- Informing the supervisor of needed items prior to running out (i.e.: brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.)
- Securing and locking Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift
Qualifications to be considered for this position:
- High School diploma/GED preferred
- Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
- Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts.

Schedule
Our stores operate 7 days per week. Work schedules are determined by Management and employee must be flexible to always ensure adequate store coverage. Full-time associates may be scheduled to work any full-time shift including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Functions of the Job
Is able to perform, daily, any of the required job duties within the processing team and department. This includes all requirements related to accepting donations, presorting and pricing merchandise.
As needed, welcome donors in a timely manner in a way that they feel confident that Blue Mountain appreciates them and understands their value.
As needed, handle the receiving and donation process with the utmost respect and care including, greeting the donor, assisting in unloading donations, telling the Blue Mountain story, repeating details back to the donor and issuing a receipt.
Have a positive and energetic attitude that contributes to the mission of revealing Christ to others including donors and other team members.
Help maintain clean and well organized reception, presort and processing areas.
Maintain a clean and well organized personal processing station.
Adhere to, daily, all employee policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Policy and Procedures manual and the Blue Mountain ' Mission Statement.
Ability to recognize quality merchandise and effectively seek guidance on pricing from the Processing Manager.
Effectively and thoroughly research merchandise as necessary in order to get the most value for our donations.
Work with and effectively communicate with the Processing Manager, other processing employees and donors on a daily basis.
Daily serve with fellow employees so that there is a healthy and productive work environment.
Achieve daily and weekly production goals set by the manager. This includes hitting the overall company goal of 35 pieces produced per hour.

Effectively use the donation receiving script to communicate appreciation, the KARM Story, and Corner of Your Field to donors.

As a Donation Specialist, you'll become an essential part of our team, providing top-notch customer service and efficiently managing donations. Here's what your role entails:

Inspect, Accept, Track, and Sort Donations: You'll ensure all donations find their way to the right place.

Outstanding Customer Experience: Greet our donors and lend a hand when needed.

Operate Power Equipment: Safely handle power equipment to organize and store donated goods.

Categorize and Sort Merchandise: Keep things organized by sorting merchandise into the correct categories while ensuring quality and value.

Load and Unload Materials: Help us prepare our donations by loading and unloading materials into containers.

Efficient Donation Processing: Process donations throughout the day, keeping our donation site organized and efficient.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Mathematical and Literacy Skills: We're looking for team members with a solid grasp of math and reading skills who will be your trusty companions daily.

Flexible Schedule: If you're the type who can roll with varying hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, we'd love to have you on board.

Positive and Friendly Attitude: Bring your positivity and a smile to create a fantastic work environment for all of us.

Clear Background Check: To ensure we meet agency standards and maintain a safe work environment, a criminal background check must be completed.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience or Certification: prior experience or certification in light manufacturing, processing, or warehouse work is a plus.

Thrift or Used Goods Experience: Any prior experience with thrift or used goods processing is a bonus.

High School Diploma or Equivalent: If you've completed high school or hold a GED, HiSET, or an equivalent qualification, we consider that a valuable achievement.
