The Lead Air Traffic Controller will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the control tower, mentoring junior controllers, and ensuring strict adherence to all safety protocols. Key Responsibilities:
Qualifications: A current FAA Air Traffic Control Certificate is mandatory. A minimum of 7 years of experience as an Air Traffic Controller is required, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead capacity. Thorough knowledge of air traffic control procedures, navigation aids, and communication systems. Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and make sound judgments in emergency situations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must pass a stringent background check and medical examination. Experience with specific airport traffic control systems is a plus. This is a critical on-site position located within the control tower at Las Vegas, Nevada, US .
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and direct the movement of aircraft within the designated airspace, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Utilize radar, communication systems, and other advanced technologies to monitor air traffic.
- Issue clearances, advisories, and instructions to pilots in accordance with established procedures.
- Coordinate with other air traffic control facilities, airlines, and airport operations.
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust air traffic flow accordingly to ensure safety.
- Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations for junior air traffic controllers.
