With that being the case there is a lot of labor intensive work that needs to be done which is where our guys come in. He’s great with candidates who don’t have any experience doing this work as they will be doing on the job training as well as formal initial Enersys training that will be done Online.

A Day in the Life of a Battery Technician:
As a Battery Technician , you’ll perform planned maintenance, installations, and repairs on industrial batteries and chargers. You’ll troubleshoot, diagnose, and ensure equipment operates efficiently while providing excellent service to customers.

- Minimum 1 year experience with lift trucks, industrial batteries, and chargers preferred

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities
The MC Dean Critical Power department provides our customers with safe and effective maintenance and installation of UPS, battery, and other critical power equipment. This position requires an individual who is keen on learning new applications and capable of critical thinking, customer service, and problem solving as well as working independently after receiving adequate training.
+ Learn and understand topics including critical power and battery systems, LOTO, safety, and troubleshooting.
+ Installing battery systems, taking electrical readings, and testing continuity of circuits using appropriate equipment.
+ Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
+ Generate tickets to ensure equipment maintenance and repair is completed in accordance with OEM standards.
+ Travel up to 75% of the time.
Qualifications
+ This position requires a High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of experience
+ Must successfully pass a background check and drug test
+ Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record
+ Reliable transportation
+ Experience with a Microsoft Windows environment
+ Ability to adapt to a changing environment and workload
+ Strong Oral and Written Skills.
+ Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
+ Must have good working knowledge using smart devices (smart phones, tablets, ETC.) and comfortable using multiple web-based applications.
+ Must be committed to excellence and generate high quality work.
+ Must consistently report to work on time, work well with other employees to accomplish a common goal, and maintain a safe work environment.
**Desired / Advantageous Qualifications**
+ Familiarity with customer service and satisfaction.
+ NFPA 70e (current version)
+ OSHA 10/30
+ Battery OEM-certified

+ The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to (50 pounds) on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including but not limited to, loading, and unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.
+ Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
+ Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
+ Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
+ Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
+ May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
+ Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
+ Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
+ Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
