LA28 is seeking a Manager, BIM Specialist to join our Venue Infrastructure digital delivery team, supporting a dynamic, event-driven environment where flexibility, precision, and rapid problem-solving are essential. Unlike traditional design or engineering roles, this position focuses on orchestrating the digital ecosystem of venues, assets, and operational data. They will oversee the integration of Autodesk technologies, the common data environment, digital models, and asset information management to ensure data-driven decision-making across the lifecycle of our facilities and events.
This role requires a systems thinker who thrives in high-velocity, non-linear workflows. Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled BIM Manager with a strong emphasis on electrical systems to lead our digital modeling and coordination efforts. The successful candidate will oversee the development, implementation, and management of BIM processes for electrical design and construction across projects, ensuring high-quality, coordinated, and constructible models.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the BIM process for electrical systems across all project phases-from design through construction and commissioning.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, designers, and project stakeholders to ensure accurate and consistent model development and documentation.
- Develop, implement, and maintain BIM standards, templates, families, and workflows specifically tailored to electrical systems (lighting, power, low voltage, etc.).
- Coordinate BIM efforts across disciplines, resolving clashes using tools like Navisworks, Revit, and BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Train and mentor internal teams on best practices for BIM in electrical design.
- Ensure models adhere to client requirements, industry standards (e.g., ISO 19650, LOD), and regulatory codes.
- Participate in project meetings to represent BIM strategies and ensure alignment between digital and construction goals.
- Support automation efforts using Dynamo, Python, or other visual scripting tools to enhance electrical modeling efficiency.
Qualifications
Required: .
- Minimum 5 years of experience in BIM management with a strong focus on electrical systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit (MEP), Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM 360/ACC.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, and low-voltage infrastructure.
- Experience with clash detection and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Familiarity with industry BIM standards and protocols (e.g., COBie, IFC, ISO 19650).
- Familiarity with Electrical Prefab and common processes.
Preferred:
- Experience with Dynamo, Python, or other scripting tools for automation.
- Experience with Trimble, Topcon, and Leica
- Experience with Point Cloud systems.
