The position will help coordinate day-to-day operational activities for the facility. The position will provide guidance to employees and/or contractors on cost effective compliance activities.
**Primary Responsibilities**
1. Gives daily guidance on the operation and maintenance of the biological FGD WWTP and scrubber systems.
2. Gives guidance on boiler and other equipment water chemistry needs.
3. Evaluates and decides on long term technical and environmental strategies and effectively implements these strategies.
4. Oversees ordering of needed VOM chemicals.
5. Help manage the plant air and water permits to assure compliance in operations and assists in reporting.
6. Responsible for providing technical guidance to other engineers and craft personnel. Establish goals and objectives in their technical area of expertise across the plant or department and executes those objectives successfully.
7. Assesses the financial implication of decisions and manages resource requirements and business needs for projects and technical solutions.
8. Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions and makes use of knowledge in area of expertise to include both technical engineering and environmental compliance activities.
9. Interprets internal/external technical issues and recommends best practices in own discipline.
10. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements through an extensive knowledge of those requirements and appropriate planning and execution to achieve desired results.
11. May lead functional teams or projects to achieve milestones and objectives and will occasionally present topical matters to senior leadership of the plant, Business Line or Department.

**Basic Qualifications**

+ BS in Chemical Engineering
+ Demonstrated basic knowledge of typical equipment used in a Chemical Plant (i.e. pumps, compressors, piping, distillation columns, reactors, refrigeration machines, etc.)
+ Good Oral and Written skills
+ Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators, etc.
+ Five years or more of engineering experience
**The following is** **_preferred_** **for this role:**
+ 10 years or more of experience in a chemical manufacturing process
+ Experience leading/participating in Process Hazards Analyses
+ Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) Certification

This is a highly visible, key role within the Company supporting the Chemours Belle Team. This position will report to the Manufacturing Technology Manager. **The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:** The individual will provide overall Chemical Engineering guidance and support for the Operations, Maintenance, and Technology Teams. This will entail involvement in day-to-day troubleshooting in the plant, as well as support for improvement programs in the areas of process improvements, uptime, reliability, cost, safety, new capital installations, etc. The Belle Plant includes areas that are designated high hazard processes.
