As the Safety & Compliance Manager, you will provide leadership and guidance to drive safety performance, compliance, and risk reduction across a specific region of Red Bull's 200+ locations, 62 Profit Centers, and 2,000+ routes. You will oversee the implementation of safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and serve as a key leader in improving the safety culture within your assigned region all the while influencing the National strategies, tactics, and goals.

Our Safety Compliance Specialist will be responsible for fostering an environment that emphasizes a strong safety culture in our Material Recovery Division. Role Purpose: The purpose of this position is to develop, implement and manage a training and competency regime for Engineering track workers and to also provide oversight and assurance of the compliance and integrity of the track structure. These approaches ensure both the highest levels of safety and performance are consistently achieved and fully compliant with all contractual, company and regulatory requirements for the MBTA Commuter Rail System.

Position Specific Accountabilities:
  • Develop, implement and manage a training and competence regime for Engineering track workers
  • Oversee and perform the instructional training of track inspectors in the classroom and in the field to enhance and develop skills and knowledge
  • Perform audits, random assurance checks and analysis to monitor the quality and accuracy of track inspections.
  • Develop and successfully implement a 12-month business plan for the Track Department for FRA compliance and meet agreed deliverables.
  • Ensure all mandated Track Inspection reporting requirements are completed within the prescribed time frames and are compliant with KCS, MBTA and regulated authorities.
  • Participate with FRA inspections and remediate any areas of attention that are identified during these inspections.
  • Ensure proper remedial actions of Track and CWR Defects are taken within the prescribed timeframes (geospots, internal rail defects).
  • Define and implement the quality processes required to continuously improve the compliance of the track department regarding track safety.
  • Demonstrate understanding and adhere to the KCS principals of Employee Engagement, Operational Excellence & Safety, Customer Satisfaction, Corporate Social Responsibility and Economic Performance.
  • Recommend Engineering department policies, procedures, standards, objectives, and programs and successfully implement these to help ensure/assure compliance with federal, state and other applicable rules, regulations and KCS/MBTA Contract Agreements for area in scope.
  • Provide managerial leadership to a capable team of managers and professionals (Track & Purchasing) to deliver effective outcomes in respect of vendor and contractor accounts for repairs, maintenance, testing and inspections are performed in the designated time frame and performed efficiently.

  • Experience at Engineering Management level within a complex railroad organization 5 years of track inspection experience and 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience.

  • Understanding and knowledge of the railroad track maintenance.

This position will be responsible for supporting the Safety Compliance team of Disney Cruise Line, assisting the Manager of Safety in compliance of the Disney Cruise Line® Safety Management System, Disney Corporate Safety Standards (as applicable) and all relevant International, National, Flag State and Local Regulations while continually seeking opportunities for technical safety improvement.
This position will help foster a strong safety culture by positive and proactive collaboration with all operational departments including the identification, assessment, analysis, and solving of a broad spectrum of Marine and Technical safety opportunities across the Disney Cruise Line Fleet and Islands.
Areas of proficiency and knowledge will include but are not limited to: Engineering or Electrical Maintenance, Technical Operational Management skills of large complex Cruise ships.
Areas to include: propulsion systems, auxiliary generators, deck machinery, high voltage electrical installations, air conditioning, steering gear systems, fuel systems, including LNG Fuel systems; electronic Marine Control Systems, SOLAS Safe Return to Port systems, Fixed Firefighting Appliances and Life Saving Appliances, MARPOL pollution prevention equipment and technical damage stability knowledge.
This position is Florida-based based however, you may be required to travel internationally 25% to 30% of the time.
**You Will:**
+ Ability to conduct audits and work effectively in partnership with other team members. Maintain trustworthy and effective business relationships with your Team and all levels of leadership and Cast and Crew.
+ Develop critical listening skills when conducting Safety Management System (SMS) audits and assess performance against relevant standards. Provide observations or non-conformities to the lead auditor for potential inclusion in internal ISM / SMS audit reports.
+ ISM Code Auditor: Enter completed audit reports into the corporate tracking system DCLIMS for action and evaluating effectiveness of corrective and preventative actions to closure. Work with operational partners to follow through on corrective actions to closure.
+ Prepare for audits and continually improve and modify technical Safety Management System audit scopes for areas identified during both internal and external audits as areas for improvement.
+ Exercise your technical knowledge to help develop recommendations for safety improvements in close collaboration with technical operations.
+ Assist in the producing Safety messaging and Safety Alerts, as directed.
+ Assist in Root Cause analysis of incidents.
+ Collaborate with Marine and Technical Operations to discuss occupational injuries, potential mitigations and preventative actions.
+ Participate in Shore Safety Committee and prepare presentations of safety-related issues for sharing with committee members and other safety professionals.
+ Participate in Environmental Shore Committee meetings.
+ Work closely with Marine and Technical Operations team to assist in reviewing action plans for outstanding Condition of Class, audit non-conformities / observations and CIRs (Continuous Improvement Reports) monthly to verify items are addressed through leadership intervention and corrective action implementation.
+ Responsible to liaise and collaborate with Marine and Technical Operations on improving all Safety Management System Safety, Marine and technical content, including risk assessments.
+ Maintain or acquire sufficient knowledge of all maritime regulations.
+ As requested by leadership, assist in investigations and as applicable Privileged and Confidential legal incident investigations and report writing.
+ Ability to handle confidential information
**You Will Have:**
+ A Technical Marine education with 5+ years of seagoing experience onboard large Cruise ships.
+ Experience with strategic listening, prioritization, and initiation of tasks
+ An experienced communicator to all levels of organizations with clear analytical editing skills, able to present formally if required.
+ Ability to understand complex marine and technical systems
+ Ability to build and maintain effective business relationships
+ Ability to travel and possess a valid passport
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Strong collaboration and teamwork skills demonstrated expertise in conflict resolution and de-escalation of difficult situations.
+ ISM Code Lead Auditor or Completion of an accredited ISO 9001 lead auditor training course.
+ Proficient in Classification Society Rules, ISM, SOLAS, MLC, ISPS, MARPOL, STCW, ILO, IGF Code, flag requirements and Port State Control regulations.
+ Experienced in the United States Coast Guard (Cruise ship national center of expertise) foreign passenger ship examiner training.

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP (WRA) a top 120 ENR firm is seeking a qualified construction safety auditor for auditing transportation, water-wastewater, building and other heavy construction contracts, in the Northern VA/Baltimore-Washington Metro Area as well as preparing Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) as part of WRA’s in-house Safety Program.

Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities include reviewing contractor safety plans for compliance with the contract requirements; performing randomly scheduled field audits and documentation of construction related activities on highway, bridge, building and other heavy construction projects to verify safety compliance with state and federal regulations; scheduling routine site safety audits, summarizing findings and preparing reports of the sites audited, including any deficiencies noted; maintaining and filing site safety audit reports; attending progress and pre-construction meetings as assigned; working with construction team members to safeguard against unsafe work practices by contractors and sub-contractors; working cooperatively with others to create a safe work site environment ; and communicating effectively with the contractor and facility owners. Nighttime inspections may be required for contractors working night shifts.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five (5) years full-time safety inspection for construction site safety audits including the development of site safety audit reports and the preparation of Accident Prevention Plans (APPs).
  • Minimum High School Diploma or State Equivalency Certificate. Associates Degree in Occupational Safety .
  • Must be familiar with preparing Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) for WRA site or field visits by both A/E and CMI personnel, when required by the client or agency, in accordance with their Safety Program and OSHA Requirements.
  • Must have an OSHA 30-Hour Certification, OSHA 500 .
  • American Red Cross First Aid Safety Certification required.
  • Basic computer skills (Word & Excel) are desirable as well as experience with using construction safety software applications for preparing and documenting reports including site location mapping utilizing ArcGIS applications.
  • Must be familiar with preparing Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) for WRA site or field visits by both A/E and CMI personnel, when required by the client or agency, in accordance with their Safety Program and OSHA Requirements.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license; good driving record and personal vehicle for travel to and from assigned construction sites.
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must have experience and knowledge in construction site safety requirements.
  • Must be experienced with accessing confined spaces and able to climb ladders and scaffolding to access remote high-level work areas as well as traversing rough terrain for long distances to inspect construction work sites.
