Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Business Analytics, the Senior Healthcare Analyst will transform data into applicable insights that drive process improvement, financial sustainability, and inform organizational strategy. You will often serve as the lead analyst on projects, partnering with teams across SFHP to support our goals. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, innovation, and continuous learning.

Please note that while SFHP supports a hybrid work environment, you are required to be onsite and in-office a minimum of 4 days per month. This is a hybrid position, based in our Downtown San Francisco office.

Salary: $130,000 - $160,000 per year

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Apply your knowledge of managed care, data analysis, and healthcare operations to solve business problems, enable decision-making, and create actionable knowledge.
  • Lead or contribute to multiple analytics projects, either independently or as part of a collaborative initiative.
  • Consult with internal customers to understand their needs, document requirements, and develop reporting and analytics solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative field (e.g. economics, statistics, data science), or other relevant areas; or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Master's in a quantitative field, or a degree or certification in a Data Science related field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with healthcare analytics; in a managed care or government program setting (e.g., Medicare or Medicaid).
  • SQL experience working with relational databases.
  • Experience with healthcare industry metrics, standards, and administrative datasets.
  • Proficiency with Power BI and Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets).
  • Familiarity with tools such as Python, R.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and data visualization best practices.

The Healthcare Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and managing healthcare repricing claim data, with a focus on various pricing methodologies including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial reimbursements. This role involves leveraging data to ensure accurate and efficient claim processing, offer insights into contract performance, and communicate results to both internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll do:

  • Analyze and interpret healthcare claim data to support/recommend decision-making processes.

  • Analyze and interact with data in SQL tables.

  • Utilize Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.

  • Understand claim payment methodologies such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Reimbursement.

  • Create visualizations and dashboards to present data findings (Tableau experience is a plus).

  • The ability to multi-task and work on multiple assignments will be required.

  • This individual must also demonstrate clear and concise communication both verbally and in writing. Including sales, client facing teams and clients

  • Actively contribute innovative ideas and support ad hoc projects, including time-sensitive requests

  • Maintains awareness of and ensure adherence to ZELIS standards regarding privacy.

  • Keep abreast of issues to identify enhancements and process improvement opportunities

What you'll bring to Zelis:

  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare data analysis.

  • 1+ years in claim reimbursement methodologies (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial)

  • Experience with Tableau is a bonus but not required.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Base Salary Range

$59,000.00 - $79,000.00

Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Data Analyst for a potential opportunity, with expertise in healthcare systems, patient movement, and quality improvement, to support mission-critical operations. This role involves advanced data analysis, subject-matter expertise in specialized systems, and collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure data integrity, risk management, and continuous improvement within the healthcare environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis for patient care encounters and PSP reports.
  • Perform expert data quality analysis for transmissions of patient en-route care encounters.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise in the ERC-AE patient movement system.
  • Serve as a Manpower and Equipment Force Packaging System (MEFPAK) subject-matter expert to support the AMC global en-route care mission.
  • Collaborate with risk management and quality teams to improve patient safety processes.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), proactive risk assessments, and performance improvement (PI) initiatives.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and project status updates to brief leadership.
  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary committees, workshops, and education programs.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental safety, infection control standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Attend staff meetings, CQI program meetings, and government-requested conferences or courses.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Health Care Informatics, Data Analysis, or equivalent (preferred).
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in the healthcare industry (or equivalent). Military healthcare experience is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with quantitative and qualitative data analysis tools and processes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Access, Visual Basic, SQL, relational databases, and report design tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including public speaking and the ability to brief multidisciplinary leadership.
  • Knowledge of The Joint Commission (TJC) and/or Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) standards and scoring guidelines (desired).
  • At least one year of RCA/PI experience in healthcare and two (2) years of program management experience.
  • Must maintain American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Heartsaver CPR/AED certification (or equivalent).
Additional Requirements
  • Completion of hospital orientation/competency verification per facility guidelines.
  • Attendance and participation in required staff meetings, training, and annual compliance programs.
  • Must attend the DoD Basic Safety Patient Manager's Course (once) and one annual government-requested conference, meeting, or TDY.
