Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.

Overview: The Senior Infrastructure Engineer (hardware-focused) will manage and maintain on-premises servers and storage while supporting virtualization and OS platforms. This role oversees the full hardware lifecycle (procurement, deployment, patching, and decommissioning) for enterprise systems (e.g. Cisco UCS and HPE/Dell servers, EMC/HPE/NetApp storage) to ensure performance, reliability, and security. The engineer also administers Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments and virtual platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V), using automation (PowerShell, Python, etc.) and monitoring tools (SCOM, PRTG, Cisco Intersight, etc.) to optimize system health. This position focuses on server/storage hardware; network devices (switches/routers) and data-center physical tasks (racking) are handled by other specialized teams. Hardware security and compliance (firmware vulnerability mitigation, backups, disaster recovery) are also key responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities

Hardware Lifecycle Management: Install, configure, and maintain enterprise servers and storage (Cisco UCS, HPE/Dell blade/rack servers; EMC/HPE/NetApp SAN and NAS). Perform firmware/BIOS updates, and capacity planning to prevent failures. Plan and execute hardware refreshes or decommissions, documenting changes and coordinating replacements or RMAs with vendors.

**Overview:** The Senior Infrastructure Engineer (hardware-focused) will **manage and maintain on-premises servers and storage** while supporting virtualization and OS platforms. This role oversees the full hardware lifecycle (procurement, deployment, patching, and decommissioning) for enterprise systems (e.g. Cisco UCS and HPE/Dell servers, EMC/HPE/NetApp storage) to ensure performance, reliability, and security. The engineer also administers Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments and virtual platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V), using automation (PowerShell, Python, etc.) and monitoring tools (SCOM, PRTG, Cisco Intersight, etc.) to optimize system health. This position focuses on server/storage hardware; network devices (switches/routers) and data-center physical tasks (racking) are handled by other specialized teams. Hardware security and compliance (firmware vulnerability mitigation, backups, disaster recovery) are also key responsibilities.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ **Hardware Lifecycle Management:** Install, configure, and maintain enterprise servers and storage (Cisco UCS, HPE/Dell blade/rack servers; EMC/HPE/NetApp SAN and NAS). Perform firmware/BIOS updates, and capacity planning to prevent failures. Plan and execute hardware refreshes or decommissions, documenting changes and coordinating replacements or RMAs with vendors.
+ **Infrastructure Upgrades & Migrations:** Design, coordinate, and document infrastructure upgrade and migration projects (new hardware deployments, data migrations). Provide hands-on support during rollouts, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
+ **Virtualization & OS Administration:** Deploy and troubleshoot virtual machines and hosts on VMware vSphere/ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V. Administer core Linux and Windows Server environments (deployment, configuration, patching, troubleshooting) to support application and infrastructure services.
+ **Monitoring & Automation:** Implement and maintain monitoring tools (e.g. Cisco Intersight, SCOM, PRTG) to track hardware health, capacity, and performance. Develop automation scripts (PowerShell, Python) and standard operating procedures to streamline routine tasks (updates, reporting, provisioning).
+ **Security & Compliance:** Identify hardware-level vulnerabilities (e.g. firmware flaws) and work with security teams to apply patches or mitigations. Ensure hardware configurations adhere to security policies, backup and disaster-recovery plans.
+ **Documentation & Communication:** Maintain detailed documentation of hardware configurations, infrastructure diagrams, procedures, and change logs. Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams (security, application, network) and vendors to communicate updates, resolve issues, and support business needs.
**Required Qualifications**
+ **Experience:** 5+ years in IT infrastructure or systems engineering, with a focus on enterprise hardware and virtualization.
+ **Hardware & Storage:** Hands-on experience with enterprise server/storage platforms (e.g. Cisco UCS, HPE ProLiant/Synergy, Dell servers; EMC, HPE, or NetApp storage arrays) and SAN technologies (Fibre Channel, iSCSI).
+ **Systems/Virtualization:** Proficiency in Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and Windows Server administration; experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi and/or Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization.
+ **Networking Concepts:** Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, Fibre Channel SAN zoning). (Note: This role does not administer network switches/routers, but interfaces with networking teams as needed.)
+ **Automation & Scripting: Strong** scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.) for automation and tooling.
+ **Monitoring & Tools:** Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring and management tools (e.g. Cisco Intersight, SCOM, PRTG, Nagios) and capacity planning.
+ **Security & Compliance :** Knowledge of hardware security best practices, patch management, and ITIL/change-management processes.
+ **Soft Skills:** Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Able to coordinate with vendors and internal teams effectively.
**Preferred Qualifications & Certifications**
+ **Certifications:** Cisco Data Center (CCNA/CCNP DC), HPE or Dell EMC storage or server certifications, VMware VCP or similar virtualization certs, CompTIA Server+, and/or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server.
+ **Cloud & Containers:** Experience with cloud/hybrid environments (e.g. Azure, AWS) and container orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift) is a plus.
