We are seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer with deep expertise in email security to strengthen our cybersecurity posture. Key Responsibilities
Email Configuration & Optimization
- Review and optimize configurations for email security platforms including Cisco Ironport, Cofense, Abnormal Security, and Microsoft technologies.
- Audit and enforce SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records for proper alignment.
- Maintain and enhance secure email gateway (SEG) and cloud email security configurations.
- Refine policies for anti-spam, anti-malware, and phishing detection.
- Perform daily review of email logs, quarantines, and alerts from security platforms.
- Investigate email-based incidents such as email bombing, phishing, spoofing, and malware.
- Develop and maintain playbooks for email threat detection and response.
Security Operations & Threat Hunting
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, third-party SOC, and incident response teams during email security incidents.
- Conduct threat hunting and retrospective analysis using logs and forensic tools.
- Tune alert thresholds, detection logic, and anomaly detection rules in email security platforms.
User Awareness & Support
- Provide technical guidance on secure email practices to support teams and end-users.
- Assist with phishing simulation campaigns and security awareness training related to email threats.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years in network or cybersecurity roles, with 5+ years dedicated to email security.
- Strong understanding of email protocols (SMTP, IMAP, POP3) and authentication methods (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).

The Network Security Engineer role requires extensive Palo Alto Panorama, Firewalls, and Global Protect experience, along with extensive networking experience. Palo Alto Prisma Access and Zero Trust Network Access knowledge and experience are highly desired. A Network Security Engineer is responsible for providing architectural, technical, and problem resolution support for a Federal Agency network and security infrastructure that promotes a secure and scalable environment that aligns with the security requirements of our customer.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Security Engineer with deep expertise in Azure, Palo Alto, and F5 technologies. In this role, you will design, implement, automate, and maintain robust security solutions that protect our organization’s critical assets, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities1. Design & Implementation of Network Security Solutions
Architect, implement, and maintain network security architectures, policies, and procedures using Palo Alto firewalls and Azure networking technologies.
Develop and maintain secure configurations, access controls, and routing protocols.
Evaluate emerging security technologies to strengthen our overall security posture.
2. Firewall & Traffic Management
Configure, monitor, and maintain Palo Alto firewalls, including rule sets, security policies, and threat prevention profiles.
Troubleshoot and resolve firewall-related security issues.
Perform regular firewall audits and vulnerability assessments.
3. Network Infrastructure Protection
Monitor network traffic patterns to detect and mitigate security threats.
Implement and maintain IDS/IPS solutions for continuous threat detection.
Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into all network devices, systems, and applications.
4. Remote Access Security
Design, implement, and maintain secure remote access architectures and policies.
Support secure connectivity across iOS, Android, Windows, and MacOS environments.
Collaborate with end-users to ensure optimal and secure remote experiences.
5. Application Delivery & Load Balancing
Configure, monitor, and maintain F5 load balancers (VM and hardware) to ensure high availability, performance, and secure application delivery.
6. Incident Response & Vulnerability Management
Investigate and remediate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and apply corrective measures.
Ensure vulnerabilities are addressed by applying the latest security patches and configurations in alignment with global security standards.
Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours, weekend, and holiday emergency support.
7. Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
Work closely with IT teams and partners to align network security with organizational goals.
Mentor junior engineers and share best practices.
Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging threats, and evolving technologies in network security, Palo Alto, and Azure.
Certifications (Highly Preferred) :
Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE )
Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security )
F5 Certified Technology Specialist (CTS )
Additional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or AWS Certified Security – Specialty are a plus.
Technical Expertise in Network Security :
In-depth knowledge of network security frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
Experience with network segmentation , zero trust architecture, and secure VPN solutions.
Strong understanding of encryption protocols , PKI, TLS/SSL, IPsec, and certificate management.
Advanced firewall policy design, rule optimization, and traffic analysis.
Threat intelligence integration into network defense strategies.
Core Networking Skills :
Strong understanding of TCP/IP , routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and NAT.
Familiarity with intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and SIEM platforms.
Experience with cloud-based security architectures (Azure required; AWS/GCP a plus).
Other Requirements :
Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts as they relate to network threat detection and automation.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex, hybrid cloud environments.
Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration and security advocacy.
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$108,000 - $186,900Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
