The PCB Designer is responsible for creating detailed printed circuit board layouts using CAD tools, ensuring optimal electrical performance, manufacturability, and compliance with design specifications.

Responsibilities of a PCB Designer include:
  • Designing complex, multi-layer PCB layouts using CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, Cadence Allegro)
  • Interpreting electrical schematics and translating them into accurate PCB designs
  • Collaborating with electrical and mechanical engineers to meet functional and mechanical requirements
  • Applying design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) principles
  • Generating and managing all documentation necessary for PCB fabrication and assembly, including Gerber files, BOMs, and assembly drawings
  • Performing design rule checks (DRC) and electrical rule checks (ERC) to ensure design integrity
  • Participating in design reviews and providing technical feedback and revisions
  • Supporting prototype builds and assisting with troubleshooting and revisions during testing
Job Requirements of a PCB Designer:
  • Proficient in PCB layout and design using industry-standard EDA tools
  • Solid understanding of high-speed digital and analog circuit design principles
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and technical documentation
  • Familiarity with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-2221, IPC-7351)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across cross-functional teams
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple design projects
REQUIRED Experience and Education:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in PCB layout/design in a manufacturing or engineering environment

+ Generate PCB CAD layout design data to meet product requirements.

+ Solid Command Experience using Siemens Expedition (PCB) as well as Siemens Expedition DX Designer (SCH) tools.
+ Able to generate parts for the PCB environment and update/ maintain libraries, control integration to SCH files.

+ Understanding of IPC-600, 610 6012 and 7351 industry standards.
+ Proficient in Microsoft office: Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting ideas and information to peer tears.

**Required qualifications:**
· Minimum BSEE with 10+ years of relevant experience in high-speed digital and wireless PCB design
· Must have layout experience on common high-speed interfaces, PCIe, 10G Ethernet, DDR4, SPI, USB, RF, antenna
· Expert proficiency in Cadence Allegro 17.2 and 17.4 PCB layout, libraries, constraint management; ability to lead whole design from scratch to product.
· Strong proficiency in Cadence OrCAD, can work with board and antenna designers to create and modify schematics.
· Excellent knowledge of SI, PI, EMI for high-speed PCB designs.
· Excellent knowledge of DC/DC switching power supply PCB design, PoE experience is preferred too.
· Familiarity with IPC, JEDEC, IEEE, and other electronic standards.
· Detailed knowledge of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes.
· Familiarity with design rules and tools of DFM, DFT and DFA.

In this role, the Senior PCB Specialist will design moderate to complex printed circuit board layouts with digital, analog, RF, power circuits and interconnect applications.
Responsibilities of the role:
+ Place and route components ensuring that all electrical and physical specifications meet the specific design requirements for each PCB design.

**Minimum Qualifications**

**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Software:
+ Advanced knowledge of Cadence software for PCB design
+ Knowledge of the complete HW design process from library creation to schematic, PCB design and signal analysis flow
+ Knowledge of MCAD workflows would be a bonus
+ Some knowledge of Cadence Sigirty or similar simulation tools
+ Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce)
+ Some Knowledge of Frontline Instack and Valor
+ Technical:
+ Extensive understanding of PCB fabrication processes and constraints
+ Proficiency with Linux and shell scripting
+ Some Experience with scripting languages, such as Python, JavaScript or TCL
+ Some Experience with SKILL language would be a plus
+ Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA Compass and Confluence
+ Understanding of signal integrity, PDN design and thermal management techniques for PCBs.

+ Familiarity with fundamental AI/ML concepts, including LLMs, supervised or unsupervised learning, neural networks and prompt engineering

**What You ll Do:**
+ Work in a team environment providing layout and documentation support for Aerospace/RF/Mil-Spec and commercial PCB designs.
+ Place and route components ensuring that all electrical and physical specifications meet the design requirements for each PCB design.
+ Participate in design reviews and interface with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Structural and Thermal Analysts, Materials and Process Control, PWB Fabrication and PWA manufacturing.
+ Create fabrication and assembly drawings, parts list, incorporate changes to existing design documentation.

+ Familiar with MIL-STD and IPC specifications.

+ Experience with signal integrity issues, current carrying capabilities, blind and buried via, imbedded passives, microvia and HDI requirements.
+ Knowledge of GD&T.
+ ECAD library part creation.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $85549 - $136879

As the Senior Staff Engineer, Printed Circuit Board (PCB), you will serve as the subject matter expert within the engineering team, playing a critical role in the development of our life-saving devices, including monitors, defibrillators, and AEDs. This position is part of the Emergency Care business unit, where you will lead complex PCB designs and contribute to advancing the performance, reliability, and manufacturability of our embedded systems.

**What you will do**
+ Lead the end-to-end design of high-speed, multi-layer PCB layouts for advanced embedded systems, ensuring performance and scalability.
+ Act as a subject matter expert in PCB layout, DFM/DFT methodologies, and CAD library architecture.
+ Use Cadence Allegro 17.4+ to execute precise and efficient board designs, from schematic capture to final layout.
+ Collaborate across global teams including electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to align on DFM/DFA best practices.
+ Coordinate with external partners and vendors to ensure all designs meet compliance and quality standards.
+ Define and continuously improve internal PCB design processes, documentation, and library standards.
