Structural Project Manager - Bridge

Our growing team is hiring a Structural Project Manager. This is an experienced position involving exciting, challenging, and complex assignments with opportunities for growth. As a Structural Project Manager, you will direct project teams in the planning, design, and delivery of transportation projects. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills and a background in bridge design. On our team, you will have the opportunity to work on various infrastructure projects for State DOTs, local agencies, and private clients. - 10+ years of experience in roadway bridge design, with management experience preferred.

- IDOT, ISTHA, and CDOT experience preferred. Experience with Chicagoland counties and municipalities desirable.

- Excellent communication, strong written, oral, and client relation skills, experience interacting with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders.

- Strong organization and leadership skills.

  • Responsible for change order requests including reviewing, negotiation and approving all changes
  • Reviewer of new store plans including civil, architectural, engineering, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc.
  • Ensure EquipmentShare's locations are designed effectively per a quarterly audit of Standard Criteria Plans
  • Prepare bid information for EquipmentShare's locations including standard invitation to bid form, applicable addendums, bid books, and relevant documentation
  • Survey existing building and prepare scope of work including necessary inspections
  • Responsible for sourcing new EquipmentShare locations within designated Region
  • Scope and budget for remodels of existing building to be converted into new EquipmentShare locations
  • Participate in weekly cross functional meetings to continuously assess cost, efficiency, and design reviews for all construction
  • Process closeout checklist documentation, and manage the 11 month warranty process for all retrofit projects
  • Store and file all important materials in the project filing system and send final plans to external vendors for data backup post projects
Skills & Qualifications
  • Must have 15+ years of construction experience
  • Must have 5+ years of experience managing multiple projects at a time within the commercial and/or industrial construction industry
  • Experience managing multiple construction projects over 1 million
  • Must have experience dealing with steel frame buildings
  • Proficient in Google sheets and construction management software
  • Strong skills in negotiation, communication, problem solving, and time management
  • Ability to effectively work cross functionally
  • Strong prioritization, time management and organizational skills
  • Holds a valid driver's license and has an excellent driving record
  • Ability to be hands-on at your construction sites.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to travel 75% of the time

Summary

The experienced electrical Project Manager is accountable for the success of all aspects of data center construction projects, from bidding and contract award through completion. Responsibilities include outlining and delegating tasks, creating timelines, estimating and adhering to costs, mitigating risks, and nurturing positive client relationships. The PM collaborates with all other departments within the organization, including purchasing, accounting, engineering, and safety as well as field supervision, general contractors, construction managers and inspectors.


Opportunities exist to be based out of our Oak Brook office overseeing Chicagoland constructions locations or on-site at remote hyper-scale data center construction sites throughout the Midwest.


What you'll do:

Project and Account Management:manage overall schedule and milestones; financial, labor and change order tracking; materials purchasing and deliveries; forecast jobs' materials and labor; billing

Business Development and Customer Relations:maintain customer relationships; manage large accounts; propagate 1-2m new business annually

Estimating: determine materials take-off; review project scope and final bid; finalize summary sheet

Site Management:visit job sites; conduct job meetings, build trust with field staff and collaborate with site superintendents; coordinate subcontractors

Team Leadership: provide mentorship to less senior PMs; manage expectations of contributing office personnel; assume responsibility for project financials and outcomes


What you'll need for success:

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Construction Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field or progressively increasing responsibilities in field electrical construction capacities.
  • Minimum 3 -7+ years experience in project management, preferably in electrical construction or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in project management of large electrical construction jobs exceeding 5m (data center construction preferred). Experience for large Tech or Fortune 500 company data center a plus.
  • PMP certification a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience estimating construction jobs and forecasting/projecting materials and labor throughout the projects.
  • Proven success satisfying construction project KPIs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professionalism, with excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and customer service skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface.
  • Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
  • Responsible for administering the project from the pre-construction budgeting/schedule stage through procurement, shop drawing/coordination development, construction, space turnover and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned construction project.

**Job Description**
**AECOM Hunt** has exciting opportunities in construction in Chicago. We are currently seeking Senior Construction Project Managers in Civil, Structural and Mechanical for our ongoing project. These opportunities exist now and in the coming months (Summer/Fall 2025).
+ Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.
+ Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface.
+ Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
+ Responsible for administering the project from the pre-construction budgeting/schedule stage through procurement, shop drawing/coordination development, construction, space turnover and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned construction project.

**Minimum Requirement:**
+ BA/BS Engineering or related curriculum and 8 years of relevant construction experience as a Project Manager or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
**Preferred Requirements:**
+ Experience as a Construction Project Manager on mega-construction projects.
+ Experience interfacing with architects, subcontractors, consultants, owner's reps, etc.
+ Professional Engineer designation.
+ Experience in ensuring projects meeting legal requirements and health and safety standards.
+ Expertise in overseeing large infrastructure projects, serving as the subject matter expert in Engineering for both new and existing structures.
+ Experience with various construction documentation, such as scope, change order, RFI, RFP, etc.
+ Proficiency in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering construction.
+ Experience in the installation and oversight of underground utilities.
+ Proficiency with construction software, such as CMIC.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
+ Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a structured team environment.

**Turner & Townsend Heery** is seeking a **Project Managers** responsible for medium to large sized projects for our office's Chicago-area clients.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Initiating, coordinating, managing, and accomplishing the design for all assigned projects.
+ Ensures compliance with Design Standards, Code Compliance, Sustainability Requirements and provides Construction Phasing and Implementation.
+ Manages all facets of project management (budget, schedule, procurement, quality & risk) for projects.
+ Demonstrates capability to read, understand and apply standard to complex documents affecting design projects, including but not limited to agreements/contracts, leases, work letters, project charters, surveys and drawings.
+ Develops Design Task Orders based on approved scope.
+ Gathers design team proposals, reviews for compliance with Task Order, reviews cost proposals and man-hour projections, schedule milestones, insurance requirements and other legal requirements.
+ Manage Submittal and Review Process: Typical process includes Program Validation, Basis of Design, Design Documents includes 35% / Schematic Design, 65% / Design Development, 95% Construction Documents (Drawings and Specifications) and the 100% Issue for Bid Sets.
+ Implements communication plan for meetings and written reports/meeting minutes to keep client and project resources informed.
+ Facilitates project meetings.
+ Implement project documentation governance aligned with company and client requirements.
+ Ensure project data integrity and documentation is accurate, timely and coordinated.
+ Tracks progress of each project against goals, objectives, approved budgets, approved timelines.
+ Reports status and variances.

**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or similar field, or equivalent experience.

+ Facility construction experience is a preferred.
+ Some experience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing)
+ Detail-oriented and thorough with strong work ethic.
+ Skilled in data processing and analytics.
+ Experience with MS Excel and Projects preferred.
+ Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations.
