The Position

The primary role of an Associate Consultant is to support engagements by driving the research and fact-gathering process, analyzing, and synthesizing findings, and developing deliverables for clients. The Essentials for Success

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement at the college or university level. Prior relevant internship or project-based work experience in strategy consulting or market research is highly desirable. You must be naturally curious, self-motivated, able to prioritize effectively and possess strong business acumen and analytical skills. Our Associate Consultants are expected to be comfortable working on their own independently as well as in a collaborative manner and bring excellent communication skills, confidence, and a “can-do” attitude.

Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in 2026 from an accredited college or university. Targeted majors include Business, Economics, Engineering, Liberal Arts, Mathematics, and Science, though we remain open to other disciplines
  • Demonstrated success in gathering primary and secondary research through a range of research methodologies
  • Relevant internships are a plus
  • Exceptional analytical skills; experience working with large datasets and modeling
  • Initiative-taking - exhibiting flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments and to assist with various ad hoc projects as needed
  • Comfort with ambiguity - ability to synthesize implications and triangulating from various data sources
  • Well organized - ability to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated experience exercising critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Foreign language fluency preferred, but not required

Overview

Data Analyst

The Insights and Product Analytics team (IPA) organization is responsible for business performance of all research products and performs analysis related to all aspects of Gartner’s Business and Technology Insights (BTI) business unit. This includes client value drivers: Research content, Client interaction, and the insights into conferences and events. IPA also supports the BTI organization by enabling and performing analysis running from client retention analytics, associate performance analytics, budget and financial analysis (in partnership with the finance organization), and client demand sensing. We power fact-based decision making by providing data, insights, and analytic tools to continuously improve our business – operationally and strategically.

We are looking for a Data Analyst who has a passion for analytical problem solving to be part of our growing team. This individual will solve a wide range of problems related to content analytics, interaction and events analytics, demand sensing, staffing models, cost reporting, automation, expert performance analytics, standard reporting, and ad-hoc analytics. Individuals in this role will work closely with IPA leadership to structure problems, identify data sources, perform analysis, and communicate findings. Strong performers will build skills to independently own project workstreams and interact with stakeholders. Projects will include a mix of team problem solving and independent problem solving. Projects will also involve automation and collaboration with the Information Technology team.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with colleagues to do analysis that surfaces actionable insight for the BTI organization. Effectively communicate findings to drive adoption and implementation. Build dashboards and reporting.
  • Project ownership: Contribute to key projects following rollout plan, success criteria and metrics.
  • Domain expertise : Become a deep subject-matter expert on Gartner’s data, analytic tools, reports & data infrastructure. Take responsibility for problem solving, root cause analysis, and devising testing methodologies for validation and articulately explaining data sources to senior audiences.
  • Continuous improvement : Support and enable improvement initiatives related both to IPA deliverables (e.g. new, innovative data sources, analytic insights, tools) as well as operational process improvement (e.g. improving IPA processes and communications).
  • Collaborate with the Information Technology team and data scientists to ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: internship and/or academic experience involving analysis of large volumes of data with strong hands-on experience with analytical tools. Ability to gather, analyze, restructure, identify and articulate insights from qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a quantitative concentration (e.g., statistics, data science, mathematics, engineering, operational research, computer science, or economics).
  • Exceptional problem solving: Proven track record of solving complex problems, thinking creatively, and using data to tell a story.
  • Leadership: Ability to engage teams and key stakeholders.
  • Technical competency: Advanced Excel and PowerPoint, Intermediate SQL, Python/R, PowerBI
  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration and influencing.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication as well as the ability to work independently.

The program involves 3-4 structured rotations in four pillars of excellence:

Data Science:
