**Responsibilities:**
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Provides comprehensive academic advising to a dynamic and diverse body of undergraduate students in the College Center for Advising Services (CCAS); advises students on academic matters including program planning, goal setting, academic progress, policies and procedures; refers students to faculty and other offices for specialized assistance. CCAS strives to encourage and celebrate an inclusive environment that is open, welcoming and supportive of staff of all backgrounds and experiences.
The Academic Advisor manages an assigned caseload of advisees over a four-year period from matriculation to graduation. Provides advisement and support about course planning, educational goals, career aspirations, college policies, and opportunities for engaging in campus life. Encourages exploration and actively supports participation in experiential learning. Communicates regularly with students about upcoming activities and deadlines. Refers students to other offices and resources including faculty advisors and academic support services. Guides students through the major declaration process, answers general questions regarding financial aid, and monitors progress toward the degree. Proactively assists students who are experiencing academic difficulties and navigates policies relating to academic probation and leave of absence. Participates in ongoing training and professional development opportunities as a member of the larger College Advisor community on campus.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
+ Advises and assists undergraduate students in formulating their academic objectives, in selecting their academic programs and in monitoring progress toward meeting graduation requirements. Maintains current knowledge of College policies, Rochester Curriculum, academic programs, and policies and procedures.
+ Advises a caseload of assigned undergraduate students in Arts and Sciences and provides information about program planning, academic resources, special academic opportunities, rules and policies, financial aid, and graduation requirements.
+ Guides students on the development of four-year academic plans and connects students to academic and career development experiences and opportunities such as study abroad, undergraduate research, internships, and co-curricular activities.
+ Effectively communicates, presents, and explains policies and procedures to students, parents, colleagues and other stakeholders in one on one meetings and in group settings
+ Provides support to students in academic difficulty and serves as a primary resource for students placed on academic probation.
+ Connects students with faculty to explore academic interests and opportunities.
+ Participates in fall & spring Academic Action process
+ Meets with students through individual appointments, and group advising, both in person and on a remote basis.
+ Assists with outreach to students who are on a leave of absence and whose degree requirements are incomplete.
+ Serves on committees such as the Probation Committee, Sophomore Committee, First-Generation Committee, Early Connection Opportunity, Basic Needs Hub, Academic Planning, and Transfer Student Committee. Specific assignments are based on office needs.
**Special Projects - Supporting Academic Advising Initiatives** (20%)
+ The special projects are aimed at enhancing academic advising initiatives. These projects may include, but are not limited to, supporting transfer student advising initiatives, retention and graduation programs, and support for two fifth-year enrichment programs. Additionally, the advisor may support project development and coordination, create resources to improve student success, foster collaboration across departments, and contribute to academic enrichment efforts. The advisor will play a vital role in driving forward innovative solutions that support both students and the broader advising community.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Bachelor's degree required
+ One year of advising experience and program management in higher education, or closely-related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
+ Demonstrated experience with and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts required.

About the Position:
The Academic Advisor engages students in interpreting and applying George Mason University and the Costello College of Business programs and services, requirements, policies and procedures. The Advisor evaluates students' academic progress, provides guidance in determining students' academic interests and objectives, and aides them to develop long-range academic and career plans. Provides academic advising for a large population of undergraduate business students. Develops quality programs to identify and support students' academic problems and career choice difficulties. Plans innovative and high-quality programs and events to enhance students' academic development and interests and to prepare students to meet today's job market demands. While telework friendly, the Academic Advisor will be expected to come to campus weekly.
Responsibilities:
Student Interaction
- Provides academic advising during the day and limited evening in individual consultations, group events or presentations, and tabling, for current and aspiring business students on such topics as major or minor choice, curriculum selection, study skills, scholarship and club opportunities, and other academic-related areas;
- Plans and implements academic-related events and performs outreach to business students for retention efforts;
- Develops programs and workshops on academic planning, orientation, and academic status for academic development;

Database Management
- Inputs individual student contact information into Patriot Connect database to provide immediate access for other advisors and consistent advising information for students;
- Writes appropriate notes summarizing important information concerning the contact;
- Utilizes the Patriot Connect database to create and/or participate in campaigns for targeted outreach to select students;
- Manages availability within Patriot Connect to enhance the student experience for scheduling appointments;
- Utilizes Banner INB student information system to review student transcripts, records, course registration history, and entering course overrides; and
- Researches and responds to student inquiries by email.
Processes
- Provides feedback for updates to Costello College of Business materials to reflect changes in policies and programs.
Maintains open professional communication with faculty and administrators to share information and align academic services with the college's mission; - Provides input on student request decisions and participate in appeals committee as asked;
- Provides accurate interpretations of policies and procedures for students, parents and faculty; and
- Assists with processing of graduation audits, notifies students of discrepancies and follows up with students on options.
Special Projects and Other Related Duties
- Creates and manages special events and projects as assigned by leadership in the Office of Student Success and Academic Services; and
- Executes special projects and duties as assigned to support the department.

The Undergraduate Academic Adviser for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) programs is a key team member in supporting undergraduate nursing students through their respective programs (BSN or ABSN). This position serves approximately 290+ full-time matriculated undergraduate students and works collaboratively with various stakeholders in the school, predominantly program administrators, Office of Clinical Placements, and program faculty to ensure successful student progression through their respective programs. Additionally, this position is tasked with ensuring adherence to the best practices, recommendations, and standards set forth by the National Academic Advising Association. This position requires a thorough understanding of the complexities of the BSN/ABSN curriculum, nursing pre-licensure requirements, and the school's program requirements and policies.
This position is central to the Student Services team, playing a pivotal role in the strategic advancement of the school's baccalaureate programs. This role carries out a student-centered advising approach that strengthens the student experience and serves as the first point of contact for students. The individual in this position provides students with the appropriate resources and services that will help retain and guide students throughout the program. This includes and is not limited to individual and group advising sessions, tracking academic progression, ensuring adherence to UW and School of Nursing requirements, and serving as a conduit to share resources to meet students' individual needs. This role serves as a liaison to undergraduate student groups and supports the school's undergraduate Coordinating Committee.
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Academic Advising, the Undergraduate Nursing The Academic Adviser will provide advising services to all undergraduate students enrolled in the ABSN and BSN programs (three cohorts), and will work collaboratively to assess and improve upon the student experience within each program, and will help to ensure student progression and graduation.
**Key Responsibilities:** **ABSN & BSN Academic Advising (85%)**
- Serve as a subject matter expert on BSN and ABSN program requirements, policies, and licensure pathways.
- Ensure and maintain adherence to guidelines, standards, and recommendations provided by the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS)
- Provide timely, consistent, and comprehensive academic advising to ~290 undergraduate students across four cohorts, both individually and in groups.

- Develop, plan, coordinate, and facilitate quarterly academic advising sessions for current and incoming students.

The Department of Integrative Biology invites applications for full-time Academic Advisor/Coordinator Pool - 2025/2026. These are professional faculty positions. This position will perform academic advising and program support for Zoology majors (Ecampus and Corvallis campus) and/or Biology majors (Corvallis campus). The advisor may also support students with the biology minor declared. In the Integrative Biology Department, academic advisors typically work with students during their entire life cycle at OSU , supporting decision making about coursework and career development. The advisor will also participate in School of Life Sciences and College of Science recruitment and retention efforts. The Department of Integrative Biology is part of the School of Life Sciences and receives support for its academic program from the College of Science. The Department of Integrative Biology supports two large Corvallis Campus majors, Biology and Zoology, and an Ecampus Zoology degree. The department has developed an internationally recognized graduate program in conservation, evolutionary biology and marine ecology with faculty working in these areas at the level of the cell, organism and community. The Zoology major is one of the largest Ecampus programs offered and also supports a robust on-campus cohort. Ecampus at OSU offers over 85 programs available to be taken completely online through Oregon State Ecampus, whichhas been ranked in the top 10 online programs in the nation for the last seven years ( .

Direct work with students/preparation/file review/notes/record keeping. Guides student decision-making in coursework for general education, major/minor specific, elective, and qualification coursework.

+ Co-advise the Integrative Biology Club, some events require evening and weekend hours.
+ Coordinate the orientation process, including communicating with students and advisors, as well as collaborating with relevant university partners.
+ Create and send weekly newsletters for both of the student-facing department listservs.
+ Manage the communication outreach schedule for students and update email templates as needed.
+ Develop and coordinate peer-to-peer and professional development engagement opportunities for online learners.
+ Prepare and maintain advising materials such as program bulletins, websites, etc.
+ Participate in orientation advising and activities for new students.

+ Communicate and collaborate with personnel in the Integrative Biology department, the College of Science, Ecampus, and across OSU , as needed.
+ Participate in student recruitment activities. Meet with prospective students and parents as part of OSU's Visit program. Represent OSU and the College of Science at various college fairs, community college visits, and recruiting events for students from marginalized or minoritized communities.
+ Review Integrative Biology scholarship applications.
+ Participate in Integrative Biology faculty meetings and serve on Integrative Biology Faculty Committees as assigned.
+ Attend local, regional, and national meetings, as appropriate.

**POSITION DETAILS**
The NYSOP Academic Advisor at Kingsborough Community College will report to the Director or his/her Designee.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide outreach to students ages 25-55 as per the NYSOP and CUNY criteria
- Coordinate with the Division of Enrollment Management to onboard NYSOP eligible students
- Link NYSOP students to campus resources in a coordinated manner ensure retention and persistence
-Utilize student success platforms such as Navigate and TRex to support students and advise them of transfer and employment opportunities
-This is position is subject to an availability of funding
The Substitute Assistant to the Higher Education Officer (aHEO) for the New York State Opportunity Promise (NYSOP) will serve a **one-year** position that plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with state regulations, supporting student success, and managing the day-to-day operations of NYSOP program within the area of interest.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Bachelor's Degree required.

The Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership at The City College of New York is hiring an Academic Adviser to support and advise undergraduate students. The Academic Adviser will join the Colin Powell School's Office of Academic Advising, which currently consists of eight full-time advisers. They will report to the Director of this office and will be responsible for one-on-one advising of students, the development and implementation of programs to support student success, and monitoring and reporting on student progress toward degrees, as required

**QUALIFICATIONS**
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years' related experience required.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
A Master's degree is preferred.
The preferred candidate will be intelligent and resourceful, with strong work ethic. Excellent oral and written communications along with exceptional interpersonal, computer, and computational skills, are essential.

- Develops communications and materials for students regarding support services, college policies and program procedures and guidelines
- Hires, develops, and supervises a team of academic advisors; provides general training and development to all advising staff
- Works with representatives of other student service units, such as the Registrar, to assure a continuously high level of student service
