**Summary:**

Required:
+ Meets one of the following:
+ Associate Degree in Electronics or Biomedical Equipment Technology or Electrical Engineering Technician
+ Completion of a Biomedical Engineering certification program.
+ Equivalent military training pertaining to Biomedical Engineering.
+ Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.
+ Meets one of the following:
+ 1-year experience in the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of medical imaging equipment
+ 2 years of verifiable experience as a Biomedical Engineer for a hospital or healthcare organization.
+ 4 years of verifiable experience as a Biomedical Engineer for an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), or as a Field Service Engineer in the medical equipment industry.
+ Knowledge of all applicable codes, standards, regulations, and recommendations as promulgated by FDA, OSHA, NIOSH, TJC, ODOH, and other accrediting bodies of the System.
+ Knowledge of and compliance with personal/patient protection guidelines for radiation exposure as specified in Radiology Safety Policy - ALARA, and possible exposures to ethylene oxide, formaldehyde, nitrous oxide, anesthetic agents, lasers, and ionizing radiation.
+ Knowledge of all test equipment likely to be used in the calibration, verification, troubleshooting, and repair of specialized and complex diagnostic and therapeutic devices and systems.
+ Knowledge of applicable local and federal regulations pertaining to diagnostic and therapeutic devices and systems.
+ Possess a current, valid Driver's License for the State of Ohio.Possess strong written, verbal, and effective interpersonal communication skills.
+ Strong technical acumen.
+ Ability to think and work independently with minimal supervision.

The Clinical Engineer III (CE3) installs, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and verifies the performance of highly complex biomedical equipment and systems, independent of technical supervision. **Essential Key Job Responsibilities**
+ _Oversees operations of Clinical Engineering Department by: conducting quarterly department head visits and meetings; ensuring that client reports are delivered in a timely manner; providing a working environment that meets all OSHA, Joint Commission and other guidelines. Completing and maintaining all performance indicators for the various facilities at or above program targets._
+ _Ensures financial performance of department by: conducting regular department head visits and meetings to review performance of Clinical Engineering program; maintaining PM/CM completion at or above program targets; being actively involved in capital asset planning, purchasing, etc., and other committees as assigned; completion of customer satisfaction surveys with appropriate results._

**GENERAL OVERVIEW:**
Provides service support and preventive maintenance on general biomedical equipment (e.g., infusion pumps, ophthalmoscopes, vacuum regulators, SCDs, etc.) and general imaging modalities (e.g. general radiology rooms, ultrasound, processors, etc.) during normal working hours and on-call rotation as required.
**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Responds to unscheduled service requests from users by performing initial problem verification,
+ troubleshooting, and problem correction. (35%)
+ Completes scheduled maintenance in accordance with PM Inspection and Protocol management plan. Initiates and completes documentation after repair or PM is completed. (45%)
+ Assist in med equipment installation as required. (10%)
+ Assists other technical positions in Clinical Engineering and other departments in the system as required. (5%)
+ Attend manufacture service schools, in house training and self-directed study as required. (5%)
+ Performs all other duties as assigned or required.
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
Minimum
+ Graduate from an electronic technical school **OR** 3 years of relevant and progressive experience
Preferred
+ Associate's Degree in biomedical or electronic engineering.
+ 1-3 years' hands on experience performing direct repair and maintenance on bio medical equipment.

**Responsibilities**
This position oversees the operations of large multi-site Clinical Engineering Department for the purpose of providing a quality, cost effective program that meets or exceeds the particular quality and financial expectations of large accounts and CommonSpirit Health's National Clinical Engineering Program. This position is responsible for providing the customer with an aggressive clinical engineering program that lowers their annual maintenance cost, increases equipment life cycles, and above all, provides the highest level of customer service. This position provides assistance with technology assessments, capital equipment purchasing, equipment safety and life cycle management.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Oversees operations of Clinical Engineering Department by: conducting quarterly department head visits and meetings; ensuring that client reports are delivered in a timely manner; providing a working environment that meets all OSHA, Joint Commission and other guidelines. Completing and maintaining all performance indicators for the various facilities at or above program targets.
+ Ensures financial performance of department by: conducting regular department head visits and meetings to review performance of Clinical Engineering program; maintaining PM/CM completion at or above program targets; being actively involved in capital asset planning, purchasing, etc., and other committees as assigned; completion of customer satisfaction surveys with appropriate results.
+ Ensures financial performance by: attaining all expense budgets and cost containment targets; ensuring that expenditure authority and level are adhered to; and forwarding, in a timely manner, all appropriate PO's, invoices and financial details to the appropriate sources.
+ Manages and oversees technical personnel recruitment, training and development. This includes holding all necessary staff meetings; training technical staff; providing written measurable objectives; coordinating vacation, sick days etc.; and performing midyear and annual performance evaluations.
+ Ensures smooth communications and reporting to and from all appropriate administrators at each site. This includes conducting all necessary meetings with facility administrators, and forwarding all positive and negative customer/vendor communications to their Division Director for review. Provides weekly reports to Division Director.
+ Provides professional team and personal growth that meets the needs of multiple location accounts with a broad focus on all technologies.
+ Networks with peers to gain innovative ideas and sourcing of information.
+ Grows the program by gaining the confidence of clinical department heads and maintaining positive relationships with the appropriate administrators at each location.
+ Contract Management- It is expected that a Manager II will be creative in minimizing full service contracts and use in-house talent regionally where it is financially feasible.
+ Program Cost to Equipment Value Ratio - Manager II will actively analyze contract spend, parts expenses, and outside services to maintain financial metrics that meet or exceed current benchmark goals.
+ Large Account Performance- Manager II actively manages 80% of the following:
+ three or more acute care facilities
+ combined inventories of more than 13,500 pieces of equipment
+ total inventory value in excess of $110,000,000
+ more than $,750,000 operating budget.
+ Staff size - Manager II is responsible for the management of more than 11 technicians and support staff.
+ Modality Management- Manager II is responsible for the management of high end imaging equipment such as CT, MRI, Radiation Therapy, and Cathlabs. Manager II will be well versed in the service options available to maintain such items and the various levels of contract coverage available including CommonSpirit Health's National Vendor Agreements. Manager II will have the ability to identify and manage technical staff capable of maintaining high end equipment with the goal of minimizing the services costs.
+ Motivating Others - Able to motivate and mentor staff to perform at high levels of expertise and productivity, with a focus on cost reduction strategies for multi-site accounts.
+ Decision-Making - Able to make effective, timely decisions based on sound judgment, data and experience, considering implications and consequences.
+ Relationship Building - Able to develop and maintain relationships with a variety of types of positions and individuals across national, division and facility levels.
**Qualifications**
+ Associate's Degree in a related field required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
+ At least five years of experience as a CE Manager.
+ Must have financial management skills.
+ Must have working knowledge of all elements of National CE Program and/or industry standard clinical engineering management.
+ Driver's License required
+ CBET or CHTM preferred
This position requires participation in a rotational on-call schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be available to respond to urgent service needs outside of regular business hours and may be required to return to the facility on short notice.

Nemours is seeking a Clinical Engineering Supervisor to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, DE.

The Clinical Engineering Supervisor supports the Director by overseeing daily operations, supervising Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) and/or Imaging Servicing Engineer (ISE) staff, and ensuring delivery of high-quality service to clinical departments. This role is responsible for daily management systems, work order management, staff development, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. Based on assignment, the supervisor may perform technical repairs or preventative maintenance (PM) on advanced medical or diagnostic imaging equipment, while primarily serving in a leadership and coordination role.

Essential Functions

A. Technical Oversight & Operations

• Supervise repair and maintenance activities by BMET and/or ISE staff.

• Ensure work order distribution is timely, balanced, and well-documented.

• Monitor PM/CM metrics, response times, and closure rates via CMMS dashboards.

• Provide backup technical support for complex or critical devices.

• Ensure technician workspaces are organized and meet regulatory standards.

• Serve in the on-call escalation chain to provide leadership support for urgent service issues, including guidance to on-call technicians.

B. Staff Supervision & Development

• Mentor and coach technicians; facilitate skills development and onboarding.

• Conduct daily huddles to communicate priorities and promote teamwork.

• Assist in succession planning and performance evaluations.

• Provide leadership during technician scheduling, PTO planning, and workload balancing.

C. Reporting & Communication

• Prepare PowerPoint slides or short presentations and dashboards for leadership as necessary.

• Serve as liaison between Clinical Engineering, hospital leadership, and clinical departments.

• Escalate customer complaints as appropriate; ensure resolution and follow-up.

D. Regulatory & Risk Readiness

• Ensure compliance with TJC, FDA, ACR, NFPA 99, CMS, and DNV.

• Conduct internal audits of logs, PM completion, and inventory accuracy.

• Assist with capital equipment planning and contract reviews.

E. Satellite & Clinic Oversight

• Coordinate scheduling and technician coverage for regional clinics and surgical centers.

• Oversee PMs and corrective maintenance at satellite locations.

• Travel as needed for site visits or issue resolution.

F. Continuous Improvement

• Lead departmental projects from planning to execution.

• Identify and implement operational and service enhancements.

• Contribute to departmental performance improvement initiatives.

*This role may supervise BMETs, ISEs, or both depending on departmental needs and supervisor's background.

Requirements

HS Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred

Valid and clean driver's license required

A minimum of three years of preventive and corrective maintenance on multiple modalities of medical equipment and/or imaging equipment is required.

A minimum of three years of experience in supervisory role is required.

Preferred certifications:

• Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET)

• Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES)

• Certified Healthcare Technology Manager (CHTM)

• Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt
