In this role, you will support others as they create healthy and safe habits while exercising in a fun environment. You will assist with various tasks, such as assessing physical needs, implementing programs, designing individualized plans and ensuring safety across the unit. Throughout the process, you will gain extensive hands-on experience in an exciting healthcare setting.
**A caregiver in this position works varying shifts between 5:30AM - 10:00PM.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Be responsible for physical assessments, exercise prescription, exercise floor coverage, equipment cleanliness/preventive maintenance, policy enforcement, member exercise incentive programming and always delivering excellent customer service.
+ Make regular rounds of the exercise floor to ensure safety and assist members and guests with exercise-related issues or questions.
+ Schedule and administer computerized health risk appraisal and physical fitness assessments to new and existing members.
+ Prescribe individual exercise programs that follow ACSM established guidelines based on assessment.
+ Follow the equipment cleaning and preventive maintenance check list. All equipment needs to be inspected and cleaned daily.
+ Follow established procedures when exercise equipment is found to be malfunctioning to get the equipment operational within 24 hours, including posting of the appropriate status signage, notifying the Manager and recording the problem in the equipment log located at the Wellness Service Desk.
+ Develop and implement member exercise incentive programs to motivate and enhance consistency and retention.
+ Maintain current information on all club programs, services and activities and promote regularly.
+ Display proficiency in the operation of the computer hardware and KI software.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Physical Education or a related field
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
+ Excellent communication and customer service-related skills
+ Ability to work variable hours
+ Experience in the administration of physical assessment exercise prescriptions and program development
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Master's degree
+ ACSM, ACE, AFAA, NSCA or related certifications

Job Summary
Responsible for ensuring comfort, safety, and enjoyment while instructing fitness classes or personal training sessions privately or in a group setting for guests, residents, and other authorized users of the Exercise & Movement Area.
Essential Job Functions
- Adheres to Carillon Miami Wellness Resort standards for guest services. Serving as a motivator to guests and residents.
- Able to lead group training including cardiovascular, strength, indoor cycling, and/or mind-body formats including yoga and meditation in alignment with the highest industry standards and Carillon Miami Wellness Resort reputation.
- Assists in classes that require additional monitoring. Available to sub classes as needed.
- Able to assist guests with proper body alignment and safety of cardiovascular and weight equipment.
- Trained in body composition and is able to provide this service to guests, if needed.
- Fulfills other fitness responsibilities such as monitoring the fitness floor including the Cardiovascular & Strength Training area, Movement Studios, Rockwall, and the Atlantic Pool.
- Uses appropriate music for group training.
- Answers guests' fitness questions before and after group training classes as needed.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings and training workshops.
- Provides personal training and specialty sessions with the appropriate certification and safe industry practices, including spotting, adjusting, and educating when requested by guests.
- Refers guests to other in-house professionals as necessary, including Spa Therapists, and Health & Wellness Professionals.
- Refers guest problems or complaints to manager according to Carillon Miami Wellness Resort’s Guest Problem Resolution Policy.
- Reports and documents any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures to management immediately.
- Must be flexible with the ability to work throughout the day, weekends, and holidays.
Education, Experience and Skill Requirements
- A minimum of five years teaching experience in the fitness industry required.
- A minimum of two years as a personal trainer.
- CPR certification including AED training and basic first aid knowledge required.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to motivate and work with a diverse group of people.
- Must be professional and outgoing and able to represent Carillon Miami Wellness Resort at a public level.
- Must be guest-service oriented and able to work effectively under pressure.
Special Qualifications
Appropriate certifications in areas of specialization, including NASM, ACSM, ACE, AFAA, RYT, PMA, and others depending on the specialty.
