The Role

Cognizant is looking for an especially dedicated marketeer to join our team. Translating Cognizant’s growth strategies into effective and efficient marketing campaigns that include promotions, customer engagement, content, research and insights and public relations. This includes working collaboratively across commercial teams, the broader marketing organization, alliance partners, and key collaborators to develop programs that align with business development goals. The person in this role will complete a mix of marketing, content, sales tools, and events/experiential strategies that improve the buying experience and accelerate conversion. The candidate will work in conjunction and tandem with Head of Field Marketing and Business Unit Heads.

Responsibilities

  • Implement BU specific marketing strategy that aligns with our corporate brand strategy.
  • Own Cognizant microsites - Lead all aspects of the creation of marketing content such as PoVs, case studies, whitepapers, blog posts, and social media content. Lead results of digital marketing/campaigns, and social media platforms to continually drive traffic and generate leads
  • Partner with the Cognizant’s cross functional within CMT BU, domain and technology and commercial teams to prepare compelling customer-facing materials, reports, briefings, and events. Deliver Cognizant story directly, and via senior spokespeople to engage customers and partners
  • Align with Cognizant marketing colleagues to identify existing and new thought leadership and other content for vertical specific marketing programs.
  • Manage the sales enablement content repository and ensure that all information is easily and readily accessible at the point of need
  • Plan and coordinate Industry specific promotional events, and industry conferences including partner-led roundtables or jointly run campaigns
  • Represent the Cognizant at Partner events like MS Ignite, Google Cloud Next, AWS re:Invent, Dreamforce, ServiceNow World Forum and Trade shows specific to each Industry to enhance brand exposure and foster business relationships
  • Design and plan Industry specific networking events like round tables, breakfast/ lunch meetings and Fireplace chats
  • Build and run co-marketing campaigns other Ecosystem partners to achieve target outcomes across the sales funnel (awareness - consideration - close), including hosted or third-party events, webinars, and digital campaigns, as well as the tracking and reporting of outcomes of those campaigns
  • Implement Large Deal & Account-based programs for large deal pursuits and marquee accounts across various industries
  • Design and drive relationship building with analysts tracking specific industry and understand their calendar of research. Orchestrate Cognizant's outbound engagement and participation in the Analysts' research agendas and published reports that matter most to the business
  • Leverage market and driven research in partnership with analysts, ecosystem partners and industry forums to identify market trends and opportunities
  • Supervise and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns and partnerships. Apply metrics and KPIs to measure return on investment and make data-driven marketing strategies

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8-12 years of relevant work experience including B2B marketing experiences in technology or professional services sector
  • Current/recent expertise aligned to the North American market (global experience would be an added plus)
  • Consistent track record in optimally driving industry specific conferences, eco-system partner events, networking events, co-marketing campaigns centered around industry themes, big bets and market offerings.
  • Consistent record of supporting complex, strategic deals and account-based programs with Fortune 100 Companies
  • Strong, active network of industry analysts, sourcing advisors, eco-systems partners particularly hyper scalers and platform firms, and third-party advisors, private equity firms

About This Opportunity

The Senior Communications & Marketing Manager will develop and execute strategies to build the Garden’s visibility and brand through a variety of channels, including digital marketing, press and media relations, and on-site efforts. Their work will connect the public to the Garden’s many identities—that of a botanical garden, a cultural institution, an urban oasis, a panoply of biodiversity, a leader in sustainability, a climate change mitigator, and an exciting destination for people of all ages and backgrounds in the heart of the most diverse county in the country. They will work across teams at the Garden to identify and share compelling stories to build audience and signal the Garden’s values; help drive visitation and ticket sales to on-site programs; and bolster the Garden’s profile through strategic partnerships. This position reports to the Director of Development and works closely with the Executive Director. They also collaborate with and provide a high level of support to the Assistant Director of Public Programs and Assistant Director of Visitor Services and other teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Director of Development to develop, implement, and evaluate communications strategies designed to elevate the Garden’s profile, share our work, and support fundraising efforts
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate marketing plans for education and cultural programs—including School Groups, Kids Programs, Teacher Professional Learning Programs, and Public Programs—and Visitor Services initiatives, including admissions, rentals, and Garden amenities
  • Provide project management, content, and editorial expertise for various QBG publications, including the Annual Report, Newsletters, and visitor guides 
  • Manage QBG’s public relations, including press and media relations
  • Manage external communication platforms, including our website, Constant Contact, social media accounts, advertising platforms, QBG’s profiles and ratings on public sites, and more
  • Support Visitor Services and Programs teams in their efforts to attract and diversify audiences and drive visitation
  • Support Development team on the execution of public-facing fundraising efforts, including Giving Tuesday, Annual Appeal, and Rose Gala, and in delivering marketing benefits to Corporate Sponsors 
  • Lead marketing- and communications-related in-house graphic design efforts to create digital and print collateral, including banners, brochures, postcards, fliers, etc.; support department Directors in their efforts to ensure brand integrity through the production of other public-facing digital and physical QBG collateral

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, graphic design, journalism, or related field

  • Exceptional visual and written storytelling skills 
  • Leadership, organization, and communication skills 
  • Excellent project management skills, ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously  
  • Initiative and self-starter; ability to work across departments as well as independently to meet goals and adhere to timelines 
  • Familiarity with Adobe programs InDesign, PhotoShop, and Illustrator strongly preferred

Schedule & Salary

This is a full-time exempt position with weekly on-site work and some flexibility to work remotely. Schedule is generally Monday through Friday, with occasional required evenings and weekends.

Salary: $68,000 - $73,000
