The Network Security System Administrator will work within the Network Security Implementation and Sustainment (NSIS) Services, and will provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Network Security Boundaries.
Responsibilities:
- The candidate will manage network security boundary infrastructure and any processes related to the systems.
- Provide support to network security boundaries including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the network devices, firewalls, VPNs, web proxies, load balancers, etc.
- Provide Tier 1 (Basic help desk resolution) and Tier 2 (in-depth technical support) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
- Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
- Provide support for hardware problems and remain involved in the resolution process.
- Configure and manage network devices, firewalls, VPNs, web proxies, and load balances and install/load operation system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Qualifications:
The candidate must be able to perform the following:
- Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of Information Technology Network Security Boundaries.
- Provide Tier 1 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems
- Provide assistance to users in accessing and using Network Security Boundaries

Education and Experience:
- Batchelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

ManTech seeks a motivated, career- and customer-oriented Network Administrator with a focus on Cisco Networks to join our team in Laurel, MD . You will be part of a mission-driven team delivering enterprise infrastructure capabilities to support a global workforce engaged in national defense operations. This position is part of the Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization—responsible for MPO’s Enterprise Information Technology (EIT), the backbone platform supporting all enterprise users. You will work with customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and vendors to deliver secure and reliable network services across Data Center & Compute environments.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain and upgrade network infrastructure, including routers and switches
- Update and configure antivirus software and other tools to secure the network
- Apply Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) updates to switches and follow Software Test and Evaluation (STE) policies
- Design and plan Cisco NEXUS network infrastructure, including setup and ongoing maintenance
- Configure Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) for switch administration
- Use network monitoring and management tools such as Solarwinds to oversee network performance
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule between 6:00am-6:00pm and may be assigned to an evening patching schedule
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university and Twelve (12) years of experience as a Network Administrator supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, three (3) years of additional Network Administration experience with an Associates degree may be substituted OR eight (8) years of additional experience and a High School Diploma
- Demonstrated experience downloading software and upgrading Cisco switches and firewalls
- Strong technical background in Cisco FirePower Firewalls
- IAT II certification (DoD 8140 required within 60 days of starting employment. Acceptable certifications include CCNA-Security/CySA+/GICSP/GSEC/Security+ CE/CND/ or SSCP)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with configuring, scripting, and managing Unix, RHEL and Windows operating systems
- Familiarity with Scanboy
- Familiarity with JIRA ticketing system
- Familiarity with Enclave environments
- Familiarity with Solarwinds
- Familiarity using LatteART and XACTA
