A well-established organization is seeking a Public Relations Specialist to develop and execute communication strategies that elevate brand visibility, strengthen media relationships, and manage public perception. This role requires strong storytelling skills, media outreach experience, and a proactive approach to reputation management.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Develop and execute strategic public relations campaigns aligned with brand goals and target audiences
+ Write press releases, media alerts, blog posts, talking points, and internal/external communications
+ Pitch stories to journalists and secure media placements across print, digital, broadcast, and trade outlets
+ Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media contacts, influencers, and partners
+ Monitor media coverage, track KPIs, and compile detailed reports on PR performance
+ Manage crisis communications and prepare rapid responses to emerging issues
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, social media, and leadership teams
+ Support event promotion, product launches, and company announcements with consistent messaging
+ Research industry trends and competitor activity to inform strategy and positioning
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
+ 2-4 years of experience in public relations, communications, or media relations
+ Strong writing and editing skills, with a portfolio that demonstrates press release and pitch development
+ Experience securing earned media placements and managing media lists
+ Familiarity with media monitoring tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater, Muck Rack)
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
+ Highly organized, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented
+ Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Preferred Experience (Not Required):
+ Background in a PR agency or handling multiple brands/accounts
+ Bilingual (depending on market)
+ Experience with influencer outreach and partnership coordination
+ Familiarity with crisis communication planning
