Location: Lockland, OH AND Franklin, OH (Field-based; frequent travel to job sites)
About the Role
Were seeking an experienced Safety Compliance Manager to join our team and take ownership of on-site DOT compliance and work-zone safety for our Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) and pavement-marking operations. Youll be the boots-on-the-ground expertconducting unannounced audits of traffic-control setups, overseeing flagging and road taper operations, verifying CDL pre-trip/post-trip inspections, and ensuring every crew adheres to federal and state safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Field Audits & Inspections
- Perform regular, surprise site visits to audit traffic-control layouts, flagging practices, and pavement-marking quality
- Conduct and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections on CDL-required vehicles under 49 CFR Part 396
- Identify safety or compliance gaps and work with site supervisors to implement corrective actions immediately
Training & Coaching
- Develop and lead on-site and classroom safety training modules (e.g., hours-of-service rules, load securement, flagger best practices)
- Mentor drivers and laborers in recognizing hazards and maintaining safe, compliant work zones
- Maintain detailed training records and schedule annual refresher courses
Program Development & Reporting
- Update and refine safety manuals, inspection checklists, and Standard Operating Procedures
- Track compliance metrics, audit results, and incident data; prepare monthly safety reports for leadership
- Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and recommend prevention measures
Regulatory Liaison
- Serve as the primary point of contact during DOT/ODOT inspections
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely policy updates and communications to field teams
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Operations and HR to integrate safety requirements into hiring, onboarding, and performance management
- Support the DOT drug & alcohol testing program, ensuring timely collection, documentation, and follow-up
Qualifications
- 3+ years of field-based safety or compliance experience in MOT, pavement marking, or heavy-equipment operations
- CDL
- ATSSA Traffic Control Technician Certification
- ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor Certification Preferred
- Certified Traffic Control Design Specialist highly preferred
- In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations (49 CFR Parts 382 & 396) and CDL vehicle inspection requirements
- Working knowledge of MUTCD handbook
- Proven ability to conduct and document detailed site audits and vehicle inspections
- Strong training, coaching, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent report-writing and data-analysis capabilities

This role will provide support involving environmental, safety and COVID for site. The Plant Safety Supervisor Position reports directly to the site Environmental Health & Safety Manager and will work closely with all site personnel and leadership, to ensure site compliance with OSHA and EPA requirements as well as adherence to all company and site policies and procedures.
The main goal of the Environmental Health & Safety supervisor will be to always ensure safe working environment and prevent any injuries and accidents. This role will also oversee the coordination of site Process Safety Management within the Safety & Environmental regulations. The Environmental Health & Safety Supervisor Role will be responsible to support the strategy and vision of the EH&S Manager be able to provide the following responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
+ Complete required COVID activities; including documentation, tracking and inspections.
+ Provide EH&S program support to ensure compliance with all OSHA, EPA & Swift Prepared Foods regulations and programs.
+ Assist in program reviews and compliance evaluations
+ Assist and/or facilitate H&S drills including: Fire & Evacuation Drills, Weather Drills, Hazmat Drills, LEPC & Fire Department drills
+ Coordinate and/or support Hazardous Communication requirements following GHP guidelines for the site including training, labeling, & Safety Data Sheets.
+ Support any site initiatives that involve EH&S actions directed through the EH&S Manager
+ Coordinate PSM program compliance to include
+ Ensure all PSM/RMP documentation is current and accurate. Examples include standard operating procedures, employee training documentation, ammonia inventory calculations, MOC records etc.
+ Support/facilitate Safety Committee meetings and activities
+ Support hazard awareness building process through safety communications, inspections, leadership training, pre shift meeting agenda adherence
+ Provide incident and near miss support including patient care and follow-up actions, investigation, tracking and trending details for EH&S events
+ Provide in-field Environmental Health & Safety support for employees and provide hazard awareness directly to site employees
+ Responsible for compliance with OSHA process safety management (PSM) regulations as well as EPA risk management program (RMP) regulations.
+ Coordinate and help facilitate internal EHS Compliance Audits, 3-year RMP audits and 5-year Process Hazard Analysis, and maintain open recommendation tracking forms.
+ Participate in all government inspections dealing with PSM/RMP. Assist with the gathering of all requested records, and program guidelines for associated PSM/RMP elements.
+ Support any site initiatives that involve EH&S actions directed through the EH&S Manager or site management

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in our Anaheim, CA office. The Safety Supervisor will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our safety programs across our organization. This role is critical in fostering a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving initiatives that reduce risk and enhance operational safety performance. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate would have excellent communication skills and attention to detail, with a deep understanding of the construction industry and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
Design and implement new safety processes tailored to our construction operations.
Audit, update and promote awareness of the companys Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)/(HIIPP), emergency action plans, and hazard communication protocols.
Submits recommendations for improvements and additions to the safety management program including emergency preparedness, accident prevention, general safety, and risk management.
Lead investigations and root cause analyses of incidents and partners with the Operations Manager to implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Deliver safety training to construction workers on general and job-specific hazards.
Ensure all personnel are informed about new procedures, equipment, or hazards introduced to the workplace.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to OSHA/CALOSHA and company safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training sessions, and corrective actions.
Collaborate with HR and management to ensure policies align with legal and organizational requirements.
Serve as a safety role model and mentor for field teams.
Encourage reporting of unsafe conditions and foster a no-retaliation environment.
Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to strategic safety planning.

Skills & Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of safety experience, preferably in the construction industry.
Excellent communication, training facilitation, project management, and organizational skills.
Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA/CALOSHA) standards.
Proven experience in developing and improving safety programs.
Certification in safety (e.g., CHST, CSP) is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
Ability to travel throughout job sites as required to conduct safety inspections.
Walk on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the construction sites.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.

The salary range for this position is between 75,000 to 90,000 per year.
- This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base annual salary will be determined based on a candidates work location, skills and experience.

General Summary:
The Fleet Safety Supervisor is responsible for safety training, safety audits, and safety analysis for the Dollar General Dedicated Fleet. Safety Supervisor must know DOT, FMCSA, and CSA rules and regulations to ensure Dollar General is compliant and meet all federal, state, and local requirements. Safety Supervisor is accountable for working with our third party compliance company to ensure driver files are updated and compliant with all regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Safety Supervisor had ownership of all new driver safety orientation, safety ride alongs, accident reviews, remedial safety training, post-accident BAT or drug testing.
Lead accident review process and accountable for counseling following driver incidents or accidents. Implement SMITH System Training. Has ownership for remedial road test based on DOT guidelines.
Accountable for building strong relationships with drivers and maintenance team through daily interactions and face to face semi-monthly safety meetings. Conducts daily lot checks of tractor equipment for damages. If damage is found, check it against the DVIR and report damages to the shop.
Promotes a culture of safety by evaluating the safety performance of all drivers and identifying training needs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) needed:
- Knowledge of Federal Motors Carriers Safety Administration, Department of Transportation, and Compliance Safety Accountability (CSA) Program
- 25% Travel required
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time in all weather conditions
- Must understand paper and electronic logs, Hours of Service, and SMITH System
- Strong written communications, oral communications, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and be very detail oriented

Work Experience &/or Education:
- Commercial Motor Vehicle driving experience preferred
