Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Automotive Systems Engineer with a focus on Electric Vehicle (EV) technology to join their innovative team in Austin, Texas, US . This challenging role will involve the design, development, integration, and testing of complex EV powertrain systems, including battery management systems (BMS), electric motors, power electronics, and charging infrastructure. The Senior Engineer will play a crucial part in the entire product lifecycle, from concept definition through to production launch. Key responsibilities include defining system requirements, creating system architecture designs, and performing system-level simulations and analysis to ensure performance, safety, and reliability targets are met. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and testing engineers, to deliver integrated solutions. This position requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in automotive systems engineering, specifically within EV development. Proven experience with EV components and architectures is mandatory. Expertise in system simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, GT-SUITE) and requirement management tools (e.g., DOORS) is essential. A strong understanding of functional safety standards (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity principles for automotive applications is highly desirable.
