Accountable for taking orders and delivering food/beverages while providing prompt and friendly service.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a consistently high level of guest service to all guests in Theater.
  • Adhere to all company guidelines and standards for serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Demonstrate mastery of the food and beverage menu; respond to questions about menu items and drink options.
  • Interact with guests comfortably in low lighting while communicating effectively in a soft tone as to not disrupt guests.
  • Display comfortable, genuine sales approach; provide insight to popular menu items and make suggestions for additional plates and drink pairings.
  • Exhibit the ability to engage with multiple guests, prioritizing interactions and providing outstanding service.
  • Provide Management with key signs of guest intoxication while ensuring minors are not served alcoholic beverages.

  • If asked by Management, act as a peer mentor for new staff members.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Previous Server experience is preferred or a minimum of 1-year experience in food service/hospitality.
  • Possess basic math skills and previous point of sale system experience is recommended.

The Advocate Counselor works in the Bronx, at the Theater Arts Production Company School, a 6th -12th grade arts-based Community School.

The Advocate Counselor focuses on supporting students who are chronically and severely chronically absent from school, struggling academically, behaviorally, and who have a history of poor attendance. The Advocate Counselor provides supportive mentoring services, including but not limited to attendance outreach, home visits, classroom support, crisis intervention, and individual and small group social-emotional support in partnership with the school staff to support students in reaching their academic and social emotional goals.

The Advocate Counselor position is a 10-month position (September – June), 40 hours per week, and will be supervised by the Community School Director.

The hourly range for this role is $22.50-$25.50

How You'll Be Making a Difference

  • Responsible for a caseload of students, including maintaining attendance and educational progress, providing students and families with continuous feedback and resources to meet the needs and ensure academic success
  • Provides individual and group mentoring to students on a weekly basis
  • Conducts daily student attendance outreach
  • Leads and facilitates attendance team meetings
  • Utilizes data to inform attendance practices and outreach
  • Provides outreach to students and their families, including phone calls, written correspondence, and home visits (home visits always conducted in pairs)
  • Facilitates communication between students, families, and school staff
  • Completes required documentation, including Dr. Cloud notes, in a timely manner
  • Provides crisis support, conflict mediation and social-emotional support
  • Completes regular assessments and provides resource referrals in support of school-based services (with support of the site manager)
  • Facilitates milieu services in common spaces, such as classroom, cafeteria, and afterschool push-ins
  • Participates in staff meetings and staff development opportunities
  • Collaborates on transdisciplinary team of Wediko and school staff to create individualized plans to support student progress
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours required for school events
  • Cultivates and maintains positive and effective relationships with Wediko team, school and school administrators, and other Community Based Organizations
  • Supports the implementation of the Community School Model
  • All functions and task responsibilities are subject to change, as deemed necessary by Site Manager and Program Manager based on needs of assigned site
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in social sciences; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • 1 or more years experience providing direct services in school-based or residential program
  • Knowledge of attendance outreach best practices
  • Strong communication (verbal and written with proficiency in English) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to approach challenges in a collaborative, supportive, and creative manner
  • Commitment to working from a strengths-based perspective
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and development, with proven use of supervision to improve practice
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills

Job Description

Second Stage Theater seeks a Head Props person to join the company and staff at the Hayes Theater. The Head Props position will supervise the props department and run productions at the Hayes Theater under the IATSE Local One Union agreement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend all production meetings during pre-production, rehearsals, tech, and preview performances as determined by the Production Management.
  • Hire and supervise props crew for the load-in, run, and load-out for all productions and special events at the Hayes Theater.
  • Load-in, assemble, alter, and load-out any props used at the Hayes Theater.
  • Serve as a member of the crew, which includes physical labor for extended periods of time including night and weekend work.
  • Collaborate with Designers, Stage Management, other departments, and Production Management to establish and facilitate technical rehearsals and run of show procedures.
  • Process payroll for all props crew members, submitting to Production Management on a weekly basis.
  • Purchase materials for load-in, tech rehearsals, run of show, and load-out as needed.
  • Maintain a safe working environment in the theater. Enforce standards of operation for construction equipment that are safe for both personnel and equipment.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of a current, accurate equipment inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Production, Director of Operations, and/or General Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:
  • Experience and background working in technical theater at a high level, running and maintaining shows. Experience on a Broadway level is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Production Props/Head Props.
  • Experience managing people and setting a strong example in the workplace.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability and willingness to always exercise professional courtesy and discretion, and maintain confidentiality as required.
  • Strong attention to detail, flexibility, and resourcefulness. Experience, ability, and commitment to work with a diverse community of individuals and teams.
  • A positive attitude, concern for other people and community, presence, and self-confidence
  • General computer skills including Microsoft Office, Dropbox, G-Suite.


Physical Requirements:

The Head Props position requires physical movement. The employee needs to be able to walk throughout the theater as well as climb stairs and ladders. The ability to regularly lift 40lbs or more and to use hand tools and power tools is required. Ability to work in dimly lit tight spaces is also required, as is the ability to hear cues over communication systems and visually monitor actions.

Hours of Work

Show schedule is typically Tuesday through Sunday, with afternoon and evening hours required. Long work hours are regularly required including early mornings, late evenings, and weekend work.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full-time, seasonal position with competitive rates, benefits and work rules governed by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between IATSE Local No. One and Second Stage Theater. The minimum hourly rate is $62.28 which serves as the basis for weekly salary and show-call wages.
