An A & P Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic supports the daily needs of the maintenance operations of the customer and ensures an outstanding experience by providing top-level service at Pentastar Aviation.

Responsibilities:

  • This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and works in close partnership with the FAA, manufacturers, pilots, and other Aircraft Maintenance Mechanics and Avionics Technicians.
  • Ensures aircraft are maintained to airworthiness standards prescribed by applicable regulations, airworthiness directives, company policies, and best practices.
  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair different business transport category aircraft airframes and engines using hand tools and test equipment.
  • Maintain the highest level of quality and integrity.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective components based on analysis of test results, following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents.
  • Use precision instruments and equipment to measure parts for wear, and repair or replace as required.
  • Other duties as may be deemed necessary.
Requirements:

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Must hold a current valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P) with no history of infractions and recent A&P experience on turbine-powered aircraft considered a plus.
  • 3 to 10 years’ experience is preferred.
  • Experience working under an FAA-approved Part 145 repair station required and Part 135 experience required.
  • Inspection Authorization and/or FCC License a plus.
  • Must be able to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Ability to work with little supervision to troubleshoot and repair systems on aircraft airframe and engine(s), including electrical, mechanical and hydraulic.
  • Versatility, flexibility, will be important as the schedule could include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
The Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) is a critical TechOps role at Delta. In this role, you will maintain the proper and safe functioning of Delta's fleet, ensuring customers have an exceptional travel experience. AMTs in the Line classification maintain aircraft, aircraft engines, and aircraft components and avionics systems according to Delta and FAA specifications; perform inspections during assembly of parts and after repair or installation of components; and document maintenance procedures including component damage, origin, and condition. 
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
+ Performs all work activities in accordance with established laws, regulations, standards, safety protocols, and procedures to ensure safety of self and others. 
+ Inspects aircraft or aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, tires, and engines for damage, defects, corrosion, or other wear to ensure airworthiness.  
+ Recommends replacement, repair, or modification of aircraft equipment based on inspection. 
+ Reports issues, malfunctions, unusual wear, or damage to appropriate personnel, as required. 
+ Installs, removes, or modifies aircraft structures, systems, or components, following drawings, schematics, charts, engineering orders, and technical publications. 
+ Repairs worn, defective, or damaged parts or components (e.g., damaged gaskets, lines and couplings, cables, and pulleys), using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.  
+ Inspects completed work to certify that maintenance adheres to standards and procedures, and that aircraft are ready for operation.  
+ Interprets discrepancies or logs (written or verbal) to understand history and nature of issue, to troubleshoot issue, and to identify required next steps (e.g., fix, defer, replace).  
+ Researches, reads, and interprets technical manuals and guidelines to perform inspections, installations, repairs, or other work activities.  
+ Reviews maintenance records to determine if service and maintenance checks, repairs, and overhauls were performed at prescribed intervals.  
+ Maintains repair logs, documenting all preventive and corrective aircraft maintenance activities.  
+ Serves as a technical expert or mentor by providing advice and corrective recommendations to others. 
+ Uses computers, computer systems, and other technology to enter, document, access, receive, or communicate information. 
+ Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
+ Must have an FAA Airframe and Power Plant license
+ Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
+ Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
+ Must have valid driver's license

This position is responsible for coordinating maintenance discrepancies and corrections on all operational aircraft, as well as monitoring all line station mechanical problems. The successful candidate will hold a current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certification, possess an understanding of aircraft computer maintenance record keeping systems and have at least one year of experience as a certified mechanic. This position reports to the Manager, Aircraft Maintenance Control.
**Essential Duties:**
+ Coordinate maintenance discrepancies and corrections on all operational aircraft
+ Monitor all line station mechanical problems
+ Reduce and hold maintenance recovery time to a minimum
+ Monitor aircraft availability
+ Coordinate equipment changes with Maintenance and Dispatch
+ Provide technical assistance to all Maintenance personnel
+ Execute the Minimum Equipment List/Configuration Deviation List (MEL/CDL) program
+ Coordinate parts and staffing requirements for mechanical interruptions, engine changes, and field repairs
+ Monitor field repairs and coordinate return of work crews to their home base
+ Coordinate with Dispatch and Maintenance Planning for MEL/CDL procedures as outlined in Company manuals
+ Arrange charter aircraft for dispatching parts and/or maintenance technicians to outstations
+ Notify Inspection department of reportable incidents involving any Company operated aircraft
+ Coordinate checking of engine oil quantities and record results
**Job Qualifications and Competencies:**
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
+ Possession of FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification and company-issued licenses
+ One (1) year experience as a certified mechanic
+ Possess good communication skills
+ Good working knowledge of the aircraft system and the flight operation
+ Knowledge of the appropriate parts of the Maintenance Policies and Procedures Manual, including applicable provisions of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs)
+ Demonstration of a positive attitude toward productivity, quality, and safety
+ Possess an understanding of aircraft computer maintenance record keeping systems
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience in the maintenance of aircraft of the type operated by the Company
**Work Environment:**
+ Standard office environment, use of computers and other office equipment
+ Available to work any shift including nights, weekends and holidays
+ Airport ramp and warehouse environment, subject to varied weather conditions and elevated noise levels
**Physical Requirements:**

The Production Supervisor is responsible for support of highly sensitive HQ USAF operational plans and safe air transportation for Cabinet Members, senior military leaders, and visiting foreign dignitaries.
**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ The Production Supervisor Will Formulate policies, manage daily operations, and plan the use of materials and human resources for management of the aircraft maintenance operations, and airworthiness of the Special Air Mission (SAM) aircraft fleet transporting the President of the United States, Vice President, 1st Lady, Cabinet Members, and other high-ranking national and international dignitaries.
+ Includes responsibility for work control, planning, responsible for implementing company safety and environmental protection policies, motivating the maintenance crew in observance of those policies, and issuing orders in a clear and simple manner, as well as reviewing the safety management system and reporting deficiencies to Andrews Support Division Management.
+ The Production Superintendent's operational authority is without limit except as it conflicts with Amentum ASD policies.
+ Directs the maintenance, repair and operation of all assigned systems and supporting infrastructure affecting aircraft airworthiness, and readiness to include supervision, direction, and control of all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on 89AW aircraft and transient aircraft on a 24/7 basis to maintain airworthiness standards in Accordance with Federal Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Authority, Environmental Protection Agency. Implements daily flying schedules to ensure all aircraft requirements are met.
+ Directs, coordinates, controls and ensures work conducted by all Maintenance Branch shops is performed within applicable guidelines.
+ To include in-shop and on aircraft maintenance support given to the SAM Fleet, Presidential Air Group Fleet (PAG), Special Executive Fleet (SENEX), 1st Helicopter Fleet, Special Air Missions Office of the Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force (CVAM), staff agencies, aircraft field services representatives, aircraft manufactures and other agencies with support host tenant agreements to ensure effective and efficient support of the Special Air Mission (SAM) fleet.
+ Make decisions on product standards and take corrective measures when quality drops below established standards.
+ Responsible for overall aircraft support and mission readiness to include aircraft forms review and exceptional release.
+ Responsible for returning aircraft to service according to applicable guidelines and directives including exceptional releases/conditional releases and Extended Twin Engine Operations (ETOP) release.
+ Orchestrates, directs, plans and coordinates Maintenance Recovery Teams (MRT) in support of aircraft repairs off station.
+ Perform duties IAW ASD OI 21-25.
+ Ensures all maintenance is conducted safely IAW Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA), Air Force Occupation Safety and Health AFOSH, Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Labor (DOL), U.S. Air Force and Andrews AFB applicable instructions, policies, and directives.
+ Will know and understand disaster control duties and provisions.
+ Additionally implements established emergency procedures for all in-flight emergencies, ground emergencies and severe weather warning actions IAW U.S. Air Force directives and local policies.
+ Directs and implements security procedures for 89th Air Wing Special Air Mission assets.
+ Chairs the daily maintenance planning and scheduling meetings.
+ Production Superintendent will serve as the Amentum ASD point of contact (POC) for all aircraft maintenance and issues relating to aircraft operations mission support.
+ Will be the single POC after normal hours (1800 to 0600 hrs. M-F, to include 24-hour coverage on weekends and holidays) for all aircraft maintenance & personnel matters.
+ Completes employee performance reviews.
+ Disciplines employees, up to and including issuing written reprimands and recommends further disciplinary action including suspension and discharge.
+ Must be able to work, day shift, night shift, and weekends and holidays as required.
+ Must have a secret security clearance and flightline/airfield management driver's license.
+ Must be a FAA certificate mechanic with an airframe and power plant rating.
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ A broad knowledge of aircraft maintenance, aircraft operations, including Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Air Force Occupational and Environmental Safety, Fire Protection, And Health (AFOSH), Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Labor (DOL), 89AW Special Air Mission and Air Force technical publications, applicable to aircraft maintenance and personnel is required.
+ Posses' strength in all aircraft systems & subsystems.
+ Exceptional communication skills, leadership abilities, and personnel management skills are required.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Air Force/civilian aircraft maintenance and fifteen or more years in a DOD and or Civilian operations management environment is preferred.
**Compensation & Benefits:**
The base salary range for this position is 115K- 125K. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for the new salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
