Title: Mammography Technologist
Unit: Mobile Mammography
Hours: 6am-6:30p
Facility: AMC
Position Summary:
Independently performs all mammographic procedures utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture. Coordinates patient flow and the activities in the mammography department. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs.
Essential Duties & Functions:
1. Performs mammographic procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluates images for technical quality.
2. Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the mammography procedure.
3. Implements screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed mammography policies / procedures. Performs daily and weekly QC as required.
4. Practices sterile techniques during biopsy procedures.
5. Assists Radiologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.
6. Coordinates patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction.
7. Assesses learning needs and educates patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs. Thoroughly educates patients about exam.
8. Ensures that all records, files and reports are properly recorded as required, performs clerical duties when necessary, verifies a signed physician order is received and corresponds with the billed procedure.
9. Maintains knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.
10. Follows radiation safety policies and procedures.
Education:
Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree

CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire

The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Colorado is seeking a board certified/board eligible Orthopedic Surgeon with a sub-specialty in Adult Spine Surgery and interest in complex spine deformity, tumor and infection to be based at the Anschutz Medical Campus. All candidates must have completed a 5-year residency and a one-year fellowship, have an interest in developing a clinical practice, interest in research endeavors, and participate in our resident/fellowship education program. The primary responsibility will be as an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon. Clinical responsibilities include actively participating in the continued growth of the Spine Surgery programs at the University of Colorado. The candidate will provide services in both inpatient and outpatient environments. Teaching responsibilities include participating in the education of Orthopedic fellows, residents, and medical students. As an academic institution with a promotional track, candidates will have to display a record of active research endeavors.
