Job Description
With guidance, the appointee will:
+ Develop novel process monitoring and control technologies applicable to molten salt and liquid metal systems
+ Develop and test new materials and cell configurations for the production of salt and metal products.
+ Perform experiments with electroanalytical and optical measurements to advance the technical understanding and application of molten salt chemistry
+ Perform experiments to understand and quantify reaction pathways and kinetics for molten salt systems
+ Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and Laboratory management through status updates, technical research reports, project presentations, peer-reviewed publications, and other regular channels.
+ Develop technical ideas and proposals to advance the application of molten salts to chemical and electrochemical processes.
**Position Requirements**
+ This level of knowledge is typically achieved through a formal education in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field at the PhD degree level with zero to three years of experience or equivalent in the scientific application of this knowledge and practical laboratory experience.
+ To perform the essential functions of this position successful applicants must provide proof of U.S. citizenship, which is required to comply with federal regulations and contract.
+ Skill in devising and performing experiments to acquire identified data, using and maintaining research equipment, compiling, evaluating, and reporting test results.
+ Knowledge of the principles and technologies associated with chemical and material processing.
+ Experience working safely with hazardous materials using engineering controls such as gloveboxes is desired.
+ Knowledge of the use of instrumentation and data acquisition systems to analyze and interpret experimental data.
+ Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

An Intern will work collaboratively with our teams to support a Burns & McDonnell Department, Global Practice or Regional Office. This position will provide support and assistance with requests in support of the business strategy.
Our Engineering Interns are responsible for performing tasks requiring the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures. This includes standard design of engineering systems, correcting and updating designs, assisting lead engineers with various project duties, and other duties as assigned.
Specific assignments and project work vary depending on the market segments. Please see below for information on each market:
Aviation & Federal
The Aviation & Federal group is responsible for program management, master planning, facility design commissioning, and operational systems design of commercial aviation and Federal & Military projects, including buildings, infrastructure, hangars, passenger terminals, fueling & ramp services, runways, and aviation support facilities.
Water
The Water group is responsible for the planning and design of facilities and processes related to drinking water supply, treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and more. They provide services to all levels of government and a variety of industrial clients.
Transportation
The Transportation group is responsible for the planning and design of bridges, highways, ports, rail systems, streets and arterials, trails, and pathways with additional focus on stakeholder outreach, traffic engineering, long-range planning, policy development.
Transmission & Distribution
The Transmission & Distribution group is responsible for the planning and design of electrical transmission projects in power delivery, including overhead transmission, underground transmission, distribution systems, substation design, telecommunication & network engineering, pipelines, renewable power integration, security, grid modernization and more.
+ Assist with tasks that may include filing, scanning, data entry, documentation, Power Point presentation.
+ Assist with responses to general questions.
+ Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
+ Present solutions to concerns.
+ Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
+ Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
+ Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
+ Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.

**Qualifications**
+ Pursuit of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an accredited program.

+ Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
+ Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.

- Identify AUR cost and schedule risks and develop risk mitigation strategies with PMC management

- Ability to review utility designs and coordinate designs review with DoR
- Provide support and oversight to Utility Coordinator
- Contract and Procurement Management
- Ability to define and coordinate utility scope clearly from plans, specifications, and CTA/agencies manuals
- Perform plan take-offs and estimate material quantities
- Actively manage and coordinate material procurement and delivery
- Project Closeout
- Actively manage and coordinate as-built records
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field of study
- Minimum of five years of relevant utility management/coordination experience
- Ability to read and comprehend plans and specifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office, Blue Beam, Adobe PDF and other applicable programs
- General knowledge of office protocol, routines and procedures
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Have a team player mindset with the ability to communicate proficiently in written and verbal forms
- Have good to great organizational skills

- Experience with Trimble (eBuilder) and other relevant project management software programs

We are seeking a new Utility Manager to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. As a Utility Manager, you join a team of infrastructure solutions experts working to solve our client’s ever-evolving project needs. This opportunity will be located at our client’s PMO office in south Chicago.
Key Responsibilities

Project Administration and Document Control

Prepare, monitor and report on Utility Work Orders, material procurement (CDWM) and other procurements in AUR program
