We have an exciting opportunity for a Computer Hardware Design Engineer in the GCS (Ground Control Station) Computers and Networks Engineering group.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Perform computer system level design of the Ground Control Stations (GCS) for GA-ASI UAV systems.
+ Develop new designs or modifications of existing systems as required to meet project goals. Assignments are normally outlined in terms of overall objectives and anticipated results.
+ Knowledge and implementation of Cyber Security hardening of a Windows based computer, and hands-on working knowledge of Windows based Virtual Machine computer systems.
+ Review Statements of work (SOW) and define Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) project tasks and responsibilities.
+ Work with other GCS computers and networks team members to define system design requirements.
+ Work with other groups such as Mechanical Engineering and Program Management personnel to facilitate task completion.
+ Oversee sustaining engineering tasks and work closely with manufacturing on the integration of new and existing GCS assemblies and sub- assemblies.
+ Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair computer and computer network systems in assigned area by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles.
+ Produce documentation, such as computer system specifications, system set up procedures and interface control documents.
+ May interact with the customer to review or define project requirements.
+ Develop task requirements from SOW definitions, develop system specifications and test procedures.
+ Must be familiar with Microsoft OS and Linux OS computer systems and Cyber Security hardening of those computer systems.
+ Knowledge of serial interfaces (RS-232, RS-422 and USB), audio/video and power equipment a plus.
+ Organize, schedule and coordinate work phases, determining the appropriate approach at a given task level at the project level.
+ Understand, communicate and apply new concepts quickly. Must be able to work independently or on a team and with the ability to lead a project.
+ Computer literate with versatile knowledge of MS Office based computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio and Power Point.
+ Must be able to work extended hours as required and have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills.
+ Must have the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Position Summary:
Oasys is seeking a Computer Hardware Engineer to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG) at the Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) – Information Systems Division (ISD). This mission-critical position supports DevSecOps and Agile initiatives and is vital in maintaining and optimizing the USCG’s IT systems, infrastructure, and hardware environments.
The ideal candidate will possess strong hardware engineering, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills and experience supporting enterprise asset and configuration management, lifecycle hardware support, software license tracking, and technical documentation. This role supports operations across multiple teams, including IT service management, cybersecurity compliance, software lifecycle management, and platform technology.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct research, design, develop, test, and evaluate computer hardware systems supporting operational and platform technologies.
- Oversee the manufacturing, installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, servers, network hardware, and peripheral equipment in a high-demand, industrial environment.
- Maintain and update records of all IT hardware and software assets using enterprise tracking and inventory management systems.
- Perform system diagnostics and root cause analysis to identify and resolve hardware malfunctions or performance issues.
- Assist in lifecycle hardware management, including procurement planning, waiver processing, deployment, and decommissioning.
- Support system audits by maintaining physical and electronic software license and warranty records.
- Implement and maintain compliance with STIG, cybersecurity, and supply chain risk management (SCRM) standards.
- Ensure hardware components are compliant with the USCG’s Standard Workstation Image and configurations.
- Assist with maintaining Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), audiovisual systems, and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Provide documentation, reporting, and technical drawings that support configuration management and security accreditation processes.
- Support DRMO procedures for retired and defective equipment by federal guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Operations, Configuration Management, and Information Assurance to support system integrity and readiness.

Skills/Qualifications:
- Expertise in diagnosing and repairing IT hardware and infrastructure, including laptops, servers, network devices, and peripheral hardware.
- Experience with asset and property management systems, configuration control, and versioning.
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure), virtualization, and storage solutions.
- Ability to interpret and manage software licenses and compliance tracking.
- Strong working knowledge of ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy) and project collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Knowledge of database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, and Ingres, and experience supporting data integrity and backups.

- At least one (1) year of IT software lifecycle processes, procurement, discovery, and management.
- At least one (1) year of experience in an Agile DevSecOps software and engineering environment and Methodologies

What you'll do.
+ Capture requirements from all skate holders and translate into technical specifications
+ Responsible for schematics capture, component selection and design release.
+ Research on new concept and idealization of product, take it to production ready.
+ Performing Worst case design calculation, End of life estimation, Thermal Calculation and Components selection.
+ Work closely with PCB team and mechanical team to guide, review layouts.
+ Understanding and implementing power electronic topologies
+ Perform design failure analysis and support functional safety activities
+ Hands-on hardware bring-up, characterization, troubleshooting, and failure analysis
+ Collaborate with all engineering teams to guarantee adherence to technical specifications.
+ Support definition of design validation tests and end-of-line tests specification.
+ Prioritizes clear and timely communication with the team when issues or failures arise, facilitating a collaborative approach to identifying solutions and learning from setbacks.
You'll have.
+ Minimum Bachelor's degree with major in Electronical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related STEM field or equivalent experience .
+ Hands-on skills of schematic capture and circuit simulation & analysis tools.
+ Experience with failure investigations and Root Cause & Corrective Action Analysis (RCCA), 8D
+ Hands on experience with electric/ electronics systems, and all standard lab equipment's (DMM, MSO, Logic Analyzer, VNA, Power supplies)
+ Familiarity with communication protocols (RS485, UART, CAN, Ethernet)
+ 2+ years designing automotive electronics

+ Masters Degree or equivalent experience.
+ 5+ years designing automotive electronics
+ Experience with Altium preferred
+ Experience with automotive safety controllers - experience with ISO26262 is preferred
