**SCOPE OF ROLE:**
The Sr. Manufacturing Manager supports the Director of Manufacturing with responsibility for all aspects of manufacturing within the assigned business lines. Assigned business lines may include any or all of the following: Lenses, Lasers, Cameras, Systems and Optical Filters. Clear, goal-aligned assignments will be made based on business priorities and need. This position will manage both the team and the capacity allocations for the assigned lines of business. The Sr. Manufacturing Manager is responsible for achieving business goals related to on-time delivery, quality, cost of goods, and for meeting sales commitments for the assigned business lines.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES:**
+ Lead, develop, and coach a manufacturing organization of 70+ employees including a combination of Direct Labor (DL) and Indirect Labor (IDL) employees. The operation runs 5 days per week, two-shifts, with occasional overtime.
+ Lead the manufacturing operations to achieve department goals for product quality, on-time delivery, and manufacturing profit and productivity.
+ Contribute to development and implementation of Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
+ Work with continuous improvement teams to drive LEAN manufacturing processes and principals throughout the separate departments.
+ Partner with the Supply Chain team to implement effective inventory management practices to reduce overall costs, improve product quality and assure stable sources of supply.
+ Drive ERP improvements and leverage functionality to support capacity planning.
+ Lead effective efforts to restructure/eliminate ergonomically adverse manufacturing procedures.
+ Facilitate preventive maintenance program for equipment and tooling in support of process and product excellence.
+ Drive safety throughout Manufacturing and identify proactive plans to prevent accidents.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:**
+ B.S. Degree required; advanced degree highly preferred.
+ 5 or more years in a related manufacturing operations management position with progressively more responsibility.
+ Green Belt level Six Sigma preferred.
+ Ability to gather, validate and analyze production data to develop evidence-based process improvement proposals.
+ Demonstrated ability to understand, plan and execute change in manufacturing structure, systems and philosophy.
