Job Description
Lead problem solving to assist plants and implementation teams in resolving tooling, equipment and conveyor performance issues and downtime.
**What you'll do.**
+ Coordinate resources to find root cause and fixes, manage and breakdown problems into items that can be validated. Determine proper validation methods
+ Handle setup and maintenance of industrial bar code printers
+ Utilize sound knowledge design and implement vision control systems. Familiar with different type of vision cameras and their programing software. Continuously evaluate equipment for improvement for quality and delivery
+ Use FIS plant monitoring software to review cycle times of equipment, review and follow up project installations
+ Reprogram equipment for engineering changes and improvements
+ Update program backups for machinery and automation
+ Program new installations of automation, machinery, material handling, and robots
+ As part of a team, review risk assessments and evaluate equipment safety
+ Assist in training manufacturing personnel and plant electricians
+ Read and modify electrical prints and schematics, Auto CAD
+ Maintain familiarity with OA, CPN/MPN networks and communication protocols for connecting to wireless and wired networks
+ Manage installation and maintenance of virus protection software for controls network PCs, perform PC backup disc images and installation of communication and firmware and controls software
+ Work overtime and weekends as needed
**You'll have.**
+ High school diploma or GED
+ 2 or more years of Controls Engineering experience (internship and coop experience will be considered)

+ Bachelors Degree
+ Electrical background (electrician or technician) preferred
+ Familiar with PLC/CNC (Siemens/ Allen-Bradley), VFD, Servo, Profinet, ABB and FANUC Robots
+ Solid understanding of laser burning
+ Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, modify electrical schematics and use AutoCAD
+ Validated ability to troubleshoot equipment and continuously evaluate for process improvements
+ Experience with conveyor system programming and overhead Gantry
+ Solid understanding of networking to include DH+, Ethernet and remote IO
+ Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
+ Lean Tools - 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, Value Stream Mapping experience
+ Understanding of 8D, FMEA, and DMAIC processes
+ Familiar with TQM and Kaizen methods
+ One or more years of experience with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
+ Knowledge of simulation modeling and visual factory management preferred

Job Summary
The Natural Resources Division of the Department of Building and Development is seeking a candidate for a full-time Erosion & Sediment Control Engineering Technician.
This position requires thorough knowledge of County and State Erosion and Stormwater Management Program laws and regulations and specific working knowledge of civil engineering and construction site management and civil engineering plans. This position is responsible for the following duties:
- Completes erosion and sediment control inspections. This includes performing inspections of active construction sites in accordance with state laws and local ordinances and County programs; reporting site problems and special conditions; proposing corrective actions to address site issues; completing bond reduction/release inspections and code compliance inspections, and maintaining/documenting inspections and project assignment status within the land management system.
- Manages erosion and sediment control enforcement per the County Ordinance and Virginia Erosion and Stormwater Management Act and Regulations, including processing notice to complies, stop work orders and notices of violations.
- Conducts plan review in accordance with state and local ordinances, laws, and handbooks.
This position requires general knowledge of standard office procedures, practices, and policies, and the ability to use computer programs and equipment. The ideal candidate must have the ability to communicate ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively both orally and in writing and maintain effective relationships with fellow employees, County officials, contractors, and the public. The ideal candidate should also have the ability to act independently using sound engineering judgment to solve problems and issues in the field or the office and should effectively be able to work in a team environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree; two (2) years of related work experience preferably related to stormwater, management, engineering, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Role Definition:**
As a Control Systems Engineering Specialist, you'll have the opportunity to develop electronic systems and software for Caterpillar's Track-Type Tractors.
**Responsibilities:**
The individual hired for this position will work as part of an engineering team to design, develop, integrate, and test software features on embedded electronic controls for use in Track-Type Tractor machine applications.
+ Ability to lead communications between Cat Technology and Product group
+ Creation of detailed software specs from high level customer requirements
+ Electronics and software support for prove design machine builds and testing
+ Test plan development and software validation
+ Support and communication of software releases, including documentation required by field follow and/or customers for successfully updating software, wiring and components
+ Identification and resolution of software defects, and proper issue list submissions and management
**Skill Descriptors**
+ **Embedded Systems:** Knowledge of embedded systems and their applications; ability to develop embedded systems with varying levels of complexity to control the operations of the machine it is embedded within.
+ **Requirements Analysis:** Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
+ **Communicating Complex Concepts:** Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.
+ **Problem Solving:** Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
+ **Technical Troubleshooting:** Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.
**Top candidates will have:**
+ Typically, a candidate will have 6 years of embedded systems experience
+ Ability to lead communications between Cat Technology and Product group
+ Experience with electronically controlled mechanical systems
+ Electrical components / systems experience. Read schematic and troubleshoot basic machine wiring issues.
+ Data link communication knowledge
+ Experience developing embedded real-time software or systems for mobile, earthmoving, agricultural, industrial, or off-highway applications
**Additional Details:**
+ This position requires the candidate to work full-time at the Mossville, IL office.

**Summary Pay Range:**
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
