The Group Director of Signal and Train Control Engineering will have overall responsibility for operations and delivery for the signals practice working with the Massachusetts Rail and Transit Practice Leader. This role will communicate and coordinate with other rail and transit positions including track, communications, traction power, OCS, operations modeling, operations management, and fleet and facilities.
The Group Director of Signal and Train Control Engineering will be responsible for managing the existing signals group in the Chelmsford MA office and will also perform key project roles including leading strategically selected rail and transit projects as Project Manager, serving as Signal Design Lead, and providing Technical Quality Oversight of signal and train control tasks/projects. The Signal group director will also be integral in building and mentoring the Massachusetts signal staff.

Job Scope: The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee information management / document control project services on multiple projects from the initial proposal stage to the final project closure phase. These projects are typically defined by specific guidelines and procedures. Additionally, this position provides support to the department as a whole, including the discipline leads and project managers. The work is conducted under general supervision.
Experience: This position requires 10+ years of relevant industrial experience in document control and administration.

- Skilled in utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

- Skillful in researching and conveying accurate information.
- Willingness to work flexible hours when necessary.
- Familiarity with working within company or Owner EDMS systems is preferred.
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Drafting and preparing project correspondence and transmittals.
- Utilizing technical writing skills to assist with, technical documents, and proofreading them.
- Scheduling project and client meetings, making necessary arrangements.
- Providing support services such as filing for project-related information.
- Ensuring meeting spaces maintain a professional appearance.
