Southwest Power Pool (SPP) is seeking a strategic and experienced Director, Seams Strategy to lead and manage SPP’s interregional activities, relationships, and agreements. This senior leadership role is critical in directing our efforts to achieve seamless boundaries with neighboring regions, fostering effective collaboration across organizations and regulatory entities.
The Director will be responsible for overseeing staff and leading policy and technical development aligned with SPP’s strategic goals. This individual will engage with internal teams, member utilities, contract service customers, neighboring system operators, and regulators to drive innovative solutions that support interregional coordination and tariff services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and direct all SPP seams activities, including the development, negotiation, and maintenance of effective seams agreements with neighboring entities.
- Set the strategic direction for seams-related services and initiatives.
- Hire, mentor, and lead a team of technical professionals and staff responsible for interregional coordination and strategy.
- Collaborate closely with departments including markets, engineering, operations, legal, and regulatory to ensure alignment with SPP’s strategy and tariff compliance.
- Serve as the primary liaison and decision-maker on seams and interregional matters.
- Interface with key stakeholders including FERC, NERC, state commissions, industry groups, and SPP members.
- Ensure compliance with SPP Tariff, seams agreements, FERC regulations, and NERC reliability standards.
- Participate in and support organizational working group efforts related to seams strategy.

- General knowledge of power system operations, market principles and design, monitoring markets, and interfacing with regulatory bodies

The Opportunity

Essential Responsibilities
• Developing, managing, and growing partnerships with designated strategic regional accounts.
• Articulate the complete value proposition (clinical, reimbursement, health economics, and pricing) of Shockwave Medical to designated regional accounts.
• Collaborate closely with sales VP’s, Regional Sales Directors, and their teams on designated accounts.
• Developing and implementing short- and long-term strategic plans based on key customer initiatives.
• Manage successful implementation of contracts and agreements with assigned accounts that lead to growth in sales volumes and additional partnership opportunities.
• Serve as liaison to marketing, sales, and other functions to create market expansion/entry support programs that are to be executed by commercial team’s post contract changes to maximize revenue and share penetration in regional accounts.
• Maintain pricing discipline in alignment with corporate strategy.
• Roll out contracts within a sales team to ensure maximum pull through.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 12 years top performance in medical device sales required; prior sales management experience in medical device is required.
• A minimum of 4 years’ experience in medical device Market Access is preferred; experience could include Strategic Accounts, Corporate Accounts, Reimbursement, Program Implementation, Health Policy, or a combination of each.
• Must be proficient with a consultative approach to complex contracting mechanisms, program implementation, and reimbursement across various sites of care.
• Excellent presentation skills specifically for executive and department leadership audiences.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal required.
• Ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage negotiations for large, complex, system wide standardization agreements.

Position Overview
The Regional Sales Director will build and develop a regional sales team to deliver best in class performance for revenue and growth. Responsible for building and managing the regional sales force and generating revenue and creating a successful strategy. Work closely with Marketing, R&D and Area VP of Sales to identify market needs and execute on the sale/commercialization of new products.
Essential Job Functions
· Build, oversee and help drive a team of regional field sales representatives that maximize sales revenues, attain corporate objectives and exceed sales goals
· Forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly sales revenue streams accurately
· Identify, develop, and implement effective sales plans and strategies
· Develop specific revenue plans for sales teams as needed to ensure growth in all products/services targeted by the organization

· Train and coach sales representatives to structure deals that exceed revenue expectations
