  • Candidate must understand general machine mechanics with demonstrable and strong mechanical aptitude and skills.

  • Digital printing press experience highly preferred.

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

  • Organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong computer literacy.

  • Demonstrable proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, CorelDraw, or other vector or drawing/CAD based programs.

  • Knowledge of color theory and basic color management preferred.

**Feasibility Testing**
+ Execute feasibility testing on various packaging formats, create die lines, and troubleshoot for digital printing on packages while adhering to timelines

Safe Quality Food Responsibilities for all employees:

+ Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.

Job Requirements
+ Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field; MBA preferred

**Job Description:**
This sheet fed converting facility produces folding cartons in the consumer packaging industry for a variety of national established brands.
**Position Purpose:**
Provides leadership to the supervisory team, production work teams and is a member of the site leadership team reporting directly to the Plant Manager. Facilitates department meetings, intervenes as necessary to keep the goals and results consistent with company direction, and works with the supervisory team members to develop their full potential. The Printing Manager, in conjunction with the team, is responsible for safety, quality, productivity, equipment condition, and housekeeping.
**Job Functions include but are not limited to the following:**
- Manages and facilitates the long term goals of department.
- Utilizes knowledge and experience, providing training to supervision.
- Responsible for their individual performance.
- Oversees scheduling, material handling issues and maintenance, as well as resolving production problems.
- Helps department achieve goals and has responsibility for personnel issues, including required discipline.
- Provides a communication network between direct reports and upper management.
- Works with all employees to maintain a safe work environment.
- Encourages and leads department to work in a safe manner and to seek improvement in work practices for their benefit.
- Develops and implements safety procedures and partners with the Safety Manager in achieving departmental and plant safety goals.
- Assures that the department maintains quality standards and uses GainSeeker techniques for problem resolution through knowledge of product specifications and training of personnel.
- Ensures that product quality, production efficiencies, and overall productivity meets or exceeds established standards, and is directly accountable for expenditures exceeding budgeted levels.
- Strives to be technically proficient on the machinery in the department.
- Provides assistance to the team in problem resolution and assures that testing and product development is carried out in a professional manner.
- Directly involved in responsibilities / actions related to Prerequisite and Food Safety Programs.
- Works effectively with other department managers to resolve issues and coordinate efforts to achieve stated goals.

**Requirements:**
- The Manager must be a leader with exceptional communication skills, good organization, and the ability to motivate people to perform at high levels.
- Must be quality conscious and customer oriented.
- Production experience in printing is required and continued education is considered a plus.
- A four-year college degree and/or equipment-direct experience in the folding carton industry is preferred; 5 - 7 years of related experience in a similar work environment is required in lieu of degree.

**BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:**
+ Manufacturing experience required
+ Must have 3-5 years relevant experience within the printing environment
+ Experience operating hand jacks, electric pallet jacks and forklifts and clamp trucks preferred
+ 3-5 years of leadership skills - must have the ability to motivate people to perform at high levels

The Printing Manager will lead a team of 42 employees in the operations of our Omaha NE (folding carton) facility. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position will serve as a member of the site leadership team and directly influence business results.
**Position Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Manages and facilitates the long-term goals of the department, member of the plant leadership team.
+ Responsible for safety, quality, efficiencies, productivity along with interfacing with maintenance department.
+ Provides a communication network between direct reports and upper management.
+ Works with all employees to maintain a safe work environment. Encourages and leads the department to work safely and to continuously improve production practices.
+ Develop and implement safety procedures and policies with the HS&E Manager in achieving departmental and plant safety goals.
+ Assures that the department maintains quality standards and uses SPC techniques for problem resolution through knowledge of product specifications and training of personnel; including plant & SQF processes.
+ Ensures that product quality, production efficiencies, and overall productivity meets or exceeds established standards.
+ Strives to have a technical proficiency and understanding of the machinery in the department. Provides assistance to the team in problem resolution and assures that testing and product development is carried out in a professional manner.
+ Works effectively with other department managers to resolve issues and coordinate efforts to achieve stated goals, interfacing with the Finishing department.
