Description Summary: This Job reports to the Regional Director Supply Chain or Market Director Supply Chain, with dotted line responsibility to the facility Vice President of Finance, and/or the facility CFO. The Director of Supply Chain will provide ministry organization and direction for the advancement of the Supply Chain process for CHRISTUS. In coordination with the Regional Director Supply Chain, responsibilities include facility specific oversight on supply management process improvements. Position includes development and maintenance of workflow assessments, quality assurance, contract implementation, data management, Supply Chain System policy and procedure development/ maintenance, and Associate career development. This Job will collaborate with the ministry financial leadership to develop supply chain strategies that meet the System goals. Support Regional Director Supply Chain or Market Director Supply Chain in establishing the strategic direction of Supply Chain across the region. Responsible for leading ministry-based teams in the identification, development and implementation of facility wide improvement initiatives that deliver clinical, operational, and/or financial improvements. Work with ministry leadership to track and manage facility-based staff productivity. Work with ministry leadership to track and manage facility-based operational performance. Maintains the knowledge of the most up to date Supply Chain Management processes. Leads the process development of the Supply Chain Logistics functions within the assigned ministry to include support with human resource management, logistics and operational process standardization, facility service agreements, maintenance agreements, capital and construction. Ensures programs are in place to comply with HIPPA, OIG Vendor Compliance, Vendor Integrity, Recalls and Alert or other regulatory system requirements. Facilitates the accuracy, timeliness of item issues, returns, transfers, & adjustments of inventory within the Supply Chain applications and Infor CloudSuite Financials & Supply Management ERP system. This will be done by monitoring of reports and metrics, ensuring Guidelines are adhered to and response times are met. Collaborates in the long-term strategic planning process and ensures a timely and thorough plan execution with continuous process improvement as it relates to the Supply Chain routines. Participation in the Supply Chain Value Analysis Team meetings, External/Internal coordination of System wide product conversions, communication of contract changes and maintains the standards of CHRISTUS HEALTH Core Values. Provides all required support for recommended supply fill rates and PAR levels. Function as the ministry supply chain champion to collaborate with other clinical and ancillary departments to assure all customer related concerns are resolved timely and assure all contractual commitments are achieved according to preset launch dates. Must be well versed in the use of MS Office Suite/Materials Management Applications. Analytical and quantitative thinker. Business planning skills to include cost impact analysis. Job Requirements: Education/Skills Bachelor’s degree in a business curriculum or a high school diploma and 6 years of experience in a supply chain related role. High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience Required 4 years of supervisory experience with a proven track record of completion of progressive tasks and responsibilities. 5-6 years of supply chain experience strongly preferred. Recommended 6-7 years of relevant work experience. Knowledge and experience working in ERP systems with a preference in working with multiple systems such as Infor and Epic. Experience initiating large projects and seeing them to completion with a successful outcome. Experience developing and writing policies and procedure. General medical product and equipment knowledge required. Hospital supply chain experience in an acute care setting preferred. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications None Required. Responsibilities
What Youll Do
- Prepares clear, sound, accurate and informative statistical and other reports of activities pertaining to procurement within UH Materials Management containing findings, conclusions and recommendations.
- Ensures Quality Controls are performed as defined in the Process Control/Quality Control manual.
- Responsible for the accurate maintenance of digital price files, replenishment reports, and hosted catalogs and maintains transaction processing and databases that support the Materials Management Information System control applications.
- Generates and effectively uses system reports to perform utilization analysis and trends. Monitors the performance of, and maintains transaction processing and databases that support the Materials Management Information System control applications.
- Provides analyses, presentations, and recommendations on usage, issuance, and general practices of General Stores warehouse to the senior management including the Director of Materials Management and compare current spend amounts against contract prices across all products procured by UH Materials Management.
- Formulates performance improvement initiatives for the department and trains supervisory and staff personnel to perform new tasks as created to enhance overall departmental efficiencies.
- Evaluates the accuracy of spend categories such as freight, product orders and other related categories against the contracted price and identify possible savings in existing/ future spend categories.

The expected salary range for this position is PS/28S: $80,000.00 - $6,576.00 - 115,150.00 in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

What You'll Be DoingThe Materials Management Buyer is responsible for the purchase of supplies, equipment and purchased services with the goal and focus on quality, availability, and cost that afford the best products at the lowest cost by adhering to the agreed upon contracts (including GPO or local contracts). This position is part of the integrated system-wide supply chain team and supports the execution of strategies including Procure to Pay (P2P ) optimization, Supply Cost saving implementation, automated point of care inventory management, Logistics and Distribution.The manager is the primary point of contact for hospital leadership at their assignment campus and works closely with COO, CNO, and CFO (Dotted Line) to meet established goals. Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job Provide direct leadership and management of a team of non-exempt and exempt staff, including shift schedule development, timecard approvals, performance evaluations, and corrective actions.Ensures compliance with State and wage & hour requirements including timecard responsibilities in the timekeeping system. Plan, organize, supervise and participate in daily operations and activities, including the receipt, documentation, storage, safety and distribution of equipment and supplies and maintenance of inventory. Acts as primary point of contact for Medical Surgical Supply recalls for their assigned campus. Responsible for and oversees the Hospital supply chain functions with responsibilities for managing and controlling all inventory locations, automation, customer service, utilization, standardization, material systems and financial controls. Provides oversight and direction for the Inventory, Receiving, Par- Level Management process. Management of the Central Supply team, ensuring day to day operations are cost effective, with patient and employee safety as a priority. Leads the implementation of inventory management processes at the point of care across all acute care facilities. Develops and Provides training and education to staff members on new equipment, procedures, and operational enhancements to ensure all staff remain informed of all changes. Assesses financial reports and assists Executive Director in development of annual budgets.Approves invoices for payment and ensures expenses are in line with approved budget. Observe health and safety regulations; ensures work areas are maintained in a clean, safe and orderly condition.Corrects staff behaviors that are inconsistent with health and safety. Manage a visibility board which includes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including fill rates, Stock outs Backorders, Receiving Exceptions and others to support continuous improvement.
