Job Description
* Performs analyses, calibrations, methods, and maintenance and repairs of instruments.
* Performs special projects as assigned by Laboratory Manager or Supervisor
* Assists with regulatory compliance, especially with reformulated gasoline.
* Maintains analytical specialization in certain areas.
* On-boards and trains Lab Techs and shift other Chemists in the use of instruments and following of method protocols
* Coordinates QC requirements with QA/QC personnel. Maintains QC inventory for their instruments.
* Monitors instrument performance via QC trends in LIMS/QC plus and performs required inspections and maintenance to ensure instrument remains in control.
* Other duties as assigned (assisting process investigations, ordering of instrumentation, supplies, etc.).
* Reviews and archives the finished products batch paperwork.
* Issues permits for maintenance job.
* Performs weekly and quarterly rotational duties.
* Conducts TMEs (Test method evaluations) on Technicians.
* Reviews and updates QC charts.
* Performs process and final product testing as needed.
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
**Qualifications:**
* Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biology, Bio-Chemistry, Physics, or related field required.
* 3 years of directly related laboratory experience required.
* Petroleum products testing preferred.
* LIMS preferred.
* Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Memphis Refinery, required.

The primary function of the refinery material handler will be to perform the sampling, monitor and load/unload incoming trucks and railcars, monitor tank levels, and perform transfers of material within the tank farm, daily. This position reports to the Operations Manager and works 7 days on and 7 days off. The refinery process is a 24/7 operation, so work hours will require nights weekends, and/or holidays.
Candidates MUST have oil refinery or chemical plant experience.
Starting at $26/hr. plus shift differential.

Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor tank levels and transfer inventory in/out as needed.
• Monitor incoming trucks bringing in used motor oil, antifreeze, and oily water.
• Monitor outgoing trucks taking out asphalt and wastewater.
• Monitor the loading/unloading operations the entire time the pump is moving product to or from the truck.
• Individual will be able to drive powered lift trucks and be aware of their load limits.
• Perform maintenance, housekeeping, or other activities in the warehouse, truck rack, and dock area as directed by supervisor.
• Train relief personnel on operations as needed.
• Rigidly adhere to safe work practices/procedures set forth by regulating authorities and the company and never compromise the safety of any personnel, company, or contractor.
• Will be required to undergo periodic industrial safety training as required by regulating authorities and the company.
• Wear all proper PPE including fall protection when required.
• Ensure environmental and regulatory compliance.
• Report all incidents/injuries/near misses to your supervisor immediately.
• Maintain a "zero-spill" mentality at all times to protect the environment.
• Check all equipment for safe and efficient operations. Report any issues to the Operations Manager.
• Participate in accident or incident investigations as required.
• Perform general housekeeping duties.
• Use basic tools: pipe wrench, crowbar, pliers, screwdrivers, etc.
• Calculate levels in tanks using basic math.
• Carry and communicate on a 2-way radio to respond to all calls.
• Communicate with Operations Supervisor to ensure paperwork is in order daily.
• Communicate with the Refinery Lead operator on tank lineups and gauges prior to loading/offloading/transferring.
• Ensure all procedures for loading and offloading are followed.
• Sample incoming trucks per procedure.
• Understand and troubleshoot basic pump operation: cavitation, seal leaks, vibration, etc. to maintain efficient equipment.
• Adequately stock operational and emergency supplies.
• Operate a basic pressure washer.
Requirements:
• MUST have experience in a refinery plant or chemical plant and truck unloading/loading environment.
• Must have the ability to perform basic computer/email/fax functions.
• Good verbal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work alone or in a team environment.

As a Certified Pipefitter, you will interface closely with the Project and Operations teams to support construction and commissioning jobs, while also supporting field repairs and custom fabrication activities as we transition into the core maintenance & reliability organization post startup.In support of this 24/7 operation, you will be periodically on-call, and may be required to occasionally work nights and weekends. What You'll Do- Act as in-house construction technician, planning and performing mechanical piping and equipment installation, including support of start-up and commissioning of those systems as needed
- Assist with planning, material acquisition, coordination, and communication to ensure the work gets completed with a focus on meeting project deadlines and cost goals without impacting production
- Plan sequence of operation, applying knowledge of geometry, effects of heat, and allowance for weld shrinkage, machining and thickness of metal

What You'll Bring
- 8 plus years of industrial pipefitting and fabrication experience, with evidence of exceptional ability
- Completion of a skilled trade's certificate program and/or relevant military experience is preferred. Associates Degree in Engineering or Technology is a plus
- Ability to read & fabricate off drawings, shop, isometric, PID, Schematic, and calculate take offs for rolling offsets, 90's & 45's
- Willingness to travel to other Tesla Facilities for support and to work outside of your trade when needed
- Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge with piping systems, fitting installation, and applicable codes
- Strong Command of the English language, both written and verbal
Essential Physical Demands:
- Able to lift up to up to 60 lbs., repetitive at times, work at elevations up to 50 ft.
